Author has written 1 story for Historical.

My name, predictably, is Lawrence Richards. Apologies for the lack of originality there, I try to make up for it in my writing with what I hope is enjoyable flair. I'm an amateur writer of historical fiction, though soon I plan to break through and call myself professional - I am currently in contact with a handful of agencies to see if I can get this all taken forwards to a publisher, with my 105,000 word manuscript Heir of the Confessor, a historical novel based on the events of the year 1066. Anyway, that's big business, so let's avoid that nastily huge topic and move on.

Presently I have only one piece of work on fictionpress.com that I actually take seriously - The Wall - while the others I simply post up with some sort of vain hope to pick up what I started and eventually finish them. The Wall, however, is the only one which actually kept me interested and motivated, and is now complete. I have just started work on another story which I plan to begin uploading chapters of in the near future, and while it is presently unnamed I have the plot all worked out and most of the characters, too. It should be considerably more epic than The Wall, since it is about a far more brutal and uncertain time - the Saxon rebellion which led to their eventual invasion of Britain and the end of Celtic freedom in much of England and Scotland. I suspect it will reach 40,000 words without breaking a sweat, which could take me some time...

I also write poetry, though I rarely post it up on fictionpress.com for some reason. If you want to dig that up, go and have a gander at my blog (registered on here as my homepage). I post only poetry, never the useless generic crap like "I had a cheese sandwich today, a freaking cheese sandwich!" I abhor that nonsense. So, er, yes, that's all I really have to say about showcasing my stuff. I could tell you about myself, but I hardly come from a broken home. I'm simply a semi-goth joker type person with long hair and an incredible ability to act like an idiot for cheap laughs. This is why people like me, sigh. I'm 17, by the way.
