Author has written 16 stories for Fantasy, Humor, Love, Nature, Essay, Life, Romance, Play, and Supernatural.

My name is Emily, and I'm a sophomore in college with a major in English with emphasis in Creative Writing and minors in German and Women Studies! I've been on fictionpress a REALLY long time, and my writing has changed a lot over the years (as has my homepage). This year I'm super busy with a lot of English courses so I'm not sure if I will be able to update my usual every-other day, but I will do my best to at least post once a week!

A little about me: I live in South Dakota, so a lot of my stories take place in the Midwest. I first started writing when I was in fifth grade, and was inspired by the character of Remus Lupin and the descriptions of Sirius Black, which indirectly gave me the idea to write about vampires. Back in the day I consumed every vampire fiction I could get my hands on, and Twilight didn't come out until my freshman year of high school (though I didn't read it until sophomore year). I'm a feminist, an ex-fan of Twilight, and love the Sookie Stackhouse novels, including the HBO series TruBlood. Some of my favorite books include Wuthering Heights, Neuromancer, The Book Thief, I am The Messenger and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

As far as music, I really love Indie and 1970s punk, such as: Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Fleet Foxes, Bat for Lashes, The Dead Kennedys, The Modern Lovers, M.I.A., The Clash, Feist, Wolf Parade, Modest Mouse, Bon Iver, Gorillaz, Margot & The Nuclear So and So's, Animal Collective, Matt & Kim, Rocketttothesky, Radiohead, The Stooges, and Television

my fiction

I Never Said I Was Brave- One shapeshifter, one human, one witch: one war.

my Faller series

Vampire and The Romantics- I posted the first draft of this story back in, oh I'd say 2004 I think, and it took a few years but eventually had an amazing following of fans that I doubt I will ever have the pleasure of pleasing again! The first draft was written my Freshman year of high school, while the second draft I present to readers now was written my Freshman year of college. During the beginning of this summer the story was stolen and posted on a different website, and due to Fictionpress having terrible copyright laws protecting its writers, I abandoned all stories on fictionpress and disappeared into exile for a few months. Alas, I miss my readers! As my sophomore year at college begins, I've decided to just say "Well screw it!" and wah-la! To anyone who cares, to anyone who even remembers, I present the revision of Vampires and The Romantics! (This time with copyright protection!)

Caleb Fang is a Faller and part of the lively underground Supernatural Community, so getting through high school proves to be one obstacle after another when he knowingly changes a fellow classmate into a vampire, whose Dad just so happens to be a full-time vampire hunter. Not only does he have to deal with hunters constantly threatening his life, but a human girl named Penny catches his interest. Being anything but Edward and Bella Cullen, Caleb isn't afraid to push his self control to dangerous heights, and neither of them is afraid to stifle their desires. Include a back-stabbing ex-girlfriend, an Xbox Live member on vampire death row, and a tricky vampire super villain complete with some henchmen, and you've got yourself one weird Junior year.

poetry

when you open one of my poems, you never truly get what you're expecting. I usually pick humorous names for show, but some of them go a little deeper, plus they usually have multiple titles. I love having more than one title, I treat the titles as if they are poetry too...I don't know, it's kind of weird, but don't knock it until you've tried it! I'm very inspired by poetry slamming and some of my influences (or just favorite poets!) include Emily Dickenson, Jeffery McDaniel, Anne Sexton and e.e. cummings.

Returned Reviews- I'll return your review unless its for the Review Game, only because I get busy and can't read everything, which hopefully is understandable!
