Alright, yes…I’m never quite sure how to start these things. I guess it’s best to begin with what I’m called. The name’s Terence, but you can call me Ren. It’s a hell of a lot easier to type, and I think it suits me…or my online persona at the very least. I live in the worst area ever for a person of my mentality to live (the Bible Belt) along the state-line separating North East Texas from North West Arkansas in a town quaintly named Texarkana (the --ANA part comes from Louisiana which is also ridiculously close to where I live). So, some facts about me. For one, I’m probably one of the most liberal people you‘ll ever meet. I’m pro-choice (and pro-life. It is possible, folks), a tree-hugging environmentalist, animal enthusiast, and raging MALE feminist. I believe in EQUALITY for all orientations, creeds, and colors. I'd like to think that I’m extremely open-minded towards other/alternative modes of thought (excepting any kind of zealotries towards any particular religious dogma). At this point in my life, I still have faith in a higher being, but find organized religion (particularly Christianity in America) to be very counterproductive. That being said, I still consider myself a Christian. I can’t explain why, exactly…But, yeah. I identify as at least passingly bisexual, though I prefer men. Only a certain kind of woman interests me, and I’m not sure she exists, so…My taste in men is wide and varied, but I think my favorite would have to be scraggly, scruffy, awkward geeky guys. I find them insanely adorable and sexy. Because I’m weird like that. I am also a proud geek and a perpetual child. I’m into fantasy, sci-fi, comic books, video games, cartoons, anime: the works. I love reading and writing, but first and foremost, my reason for being is ART. I draw, I sketch, I design. Not professionally, mind you, but I do. It is my life’s goal to work as a concept artist for video games and comics (perhaps progressing to the position of storyboard artist or penciler). I have been told by many friends and acquaintances that I have a certain eye for style and could very well be a fashion designer. I ADORE fashion, yes, but I’m afraid the business is to uppity and cutthroat for my liking. My fashion sense is a tad hard to explain. I like a little kitsch, a bit gaudy, and a lot of whimsy to clothes…I know that sounds crazy, but go with me here. If ever I get my scanner working again, I’ll show you what I mean. On to other interests. I’m a Harry Potter fanatic. That’s simply put enough, I’m sure. I don’t consort with the fandom, though, because they frighten me. _; To be honest, Harry Potter is the only book series that I’ve ever completely fell in love with enough to pursue reading. I’m a fan of Ronald Dahl’s books (particularly Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, and the BFG). I used to be very into reading, but then I never found any books that I loved, so…I can’t say I’m the biggest literature buff out there, but I do love to read. As far as television goes, I’m very into Heroes, Ugly Betty, Torchwood (and by association Dr. Who), and a few other shows I can’t remember offhand. I’m not as huge into television as I used to be. Ask me what shows I used to be into, and I could give you a list as long as your arm. I’m not kidding, either. As you can probably guess by now, I love me some anime. I used to be very into Pokémon, but gave up when the species count grew over 300. I was also very into Sailor Moon, Outlaw Star, DBZ, Cowboy Bebop, Robotech, Case Closed, Tenchi Muyo, Inuyasha, and basically every other anime that’s ever come state-side and been broadcast on Cartoon Network. Outside of that, I love the films of Hideo Miyazaki (particularly Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Kiki’s Delivery Service). I loved Megalopolis, Akira, X, Ghost in the Shell, etc. Right now, though, I’m all about Naruto and Avatar: The Last Airbender. What next…? Music! OMG, I live and breathe for music. I listen to everything. EVERYTHING. No exaggeration. I listen to a little: Indie ,Punk, Emo/Screamo/Extremo/Hardcore/etc., Grunge, Goth, World, Love Metal, Death Metal, NuMetal, Modern Alternative, Classic Rock, R&B, Hip-Hop, Funk, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Pop, Pop-Rock, Techno-Pop, New Wave, Trance, Dance, House, Ska, Reggae, Reggaeton, Calypso, Bluegrass, Country (it is indeed an aquired taste),Rockabilly, Big Band, Classical... And all other genres and subgenres in between.
