"A good novel tells us the truth about it's hero; but a bad novel tells us the truth about its author." - G. K. Chesterton
I think that's my author's credo- I have no tolerance for Mary/Gary Stu's. Unless it's first person perspective, or a memoir/autobiography, then I don't want to hear the author's own opinions in their "witty, attractive, protagonist who's SO over their ex, 'cause he's a jerk who has a tiny dick." Even though it's more rampant in fanfiction, it has a healthy stock in regular, published and nonpublished, fiction. Ugh.
I'm a non-serious writer. I say this because although I like to write, and I write whenever possible, I don't plan on making it a career. I prefer being an editor. That being said, I have way too many plot-bunnies running rampant in my wool-gathering device to NOT write.
Update: Just posted another series I probably won't ever finish. Just like Latin 101, it will probably die of plot-bunny starvation. Le horror. o(X . x)o
