Update on Bloom in the Fall/Goldfish in the Nile-- This story is on temporary hiatus while i figure out what i want to do with it. I'm playing with ideas in my head and trying to figure out where I want Jenny to go and what purpose she has. I really want to write this, so I do hope I will return to it. It's not good, but it's better than anything I wrote before it.
The Emerald Prophesy - A piece of mystery/action fiction I started to write a long long time ago but then disappeared from fictionpress. This is a rewrite, and much improved in my opinion. Still not good, but I don't think it's bad either. Let me know what you think, even if it's a bad review because I don't want to waste my time on a bad story.
Introduction to the author:
Hello to anyone venturing into my thoughts and dreams. My penname is Samantha Kensington on this and other sites. No, that is not my real name.
I love to read and write, despite the fact that I am studying engineering at a school that offers little outside physics, computers, and technology. Not that I don't like it, it just really makes me appreciate literature. My favorite author is Madeleine L'Engle and I pretty much want to be one of the Murry's from A Wrinkle in Time. I'm currently reading Dancing Naked at the Edge of Dawn by Kris Radish, so I'm feeling very feministic. I also love the Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter. One of my goals is to write a novel one day, and I'm hoping this website will be the start of that.
I have some poetry on here from class assignments from when I was in highschool. I'm very proud of Drowning, and any girl in high school should read Burn.
I'm writing a story called The Bloom in the Fall. I'm really into it and have quite a few chapters written. It's an adventure I'm excited to take over the course of the summer and I really hope you'll join me and Jenny as we try to figure out our lives. Below I've written some descriptions of stories I've started to write or old poetry, but i'm not really continuing those stories, although maybe one day I will. You never know. I'll be honest though, i couldn't write shit before my senior year of high school.
If you have any questions, you can e-mail me at bluejeanbaby1228@yahoo.com. I do hope you will read some of my recent publishings and review them because I really do want to write a novel one day.
Love, Sam
OLD STORIES (they aren't very good, be warned):
Sarah's Surprise- for the past couple weeks before I wrote this i kept thinking about this guy singing "Carry This Picture" by Dashboard Confessional for me. Yes, I'm a cheesy romantic- lol. So after playing the song fifty times and imagining him sitting on a stool singing it, I decided I would write a story about it. I used the characters in another story i'm writing called Sarah's Song and got started. The writing process can be funny though. "Carry this Picture" turned into "Question" by Old 97's and just serenading Sarah turned into a proposal. I guess i melded two romantic dreams into one. :)
Sarah's Song- I have been wanting to write a story for a long time now that was all my own and had no connections to fanfiction. I heard about a friend of a friend's neurological condition and how she deals with it in her everyday life and Sarah Brewer began to form in the back of my mind.
Back to Dreaming- This was a school poetry assignment but I liked this poem so much that i thought i would put it up here for anyone who might want to read it. The assignment was to right a poem that used a cliche that you change slightly. I changed "Back to the future/present" into "Back to Dreaming"
Butterfly Dance- This was also a school assignment, but was a free write. It didn't have any particular requirements except to just be turned in.
