Welcome!

Updated as of September 21st, 2009

OMG! What is this? An update? A new post? WHOA! Hahaha... sorry about the long break. I swear I'm working on the next chapter of Baby Business. It's about half done now and I'm hoping it'll be up within the next few weeks. However, to hold you over until that comes out, I've taken my little skit Stealing the Light and I'm now in the process of turning it into a short, one act play. It's been retitled All For Her. You can read the first scene now and I'm hoping to get the second scene up in the next few days.

Hey everyone, I just thought I'd throw out a quick little comment about reviews. Yeah, I know you're all going "Ugh. Again?" But yeah, again. Sorry. On the upside, I'm not just talking about myself this time. I'm saying this for all the authors here on Fiction Press. I'm sure there's thousands of other writers that would agree with me on this:

I believe that if you read someone's story, poem, or any other piece of written work on Fiction Press, it's only polite to write them a review.

Lately I've been reading a lot more here than I have in the past years and for each story I read, even if I don't like it, I leave a review. If anything, it lets the author know people are reading their stuff. If you're an author and you're reading this, think about how happy you are when you get a review. Don't you think everyone should be given the same thrill as often as possible, including yourself? If you see something in a story you think needs to be improved or fixed, let the author know! I'm going to take a wild guess and say that about 95 percent of the authors here love constructive criticism. After all, it's the best way to improve one's writing. Even if you can't find anything to improve or fix in a piece, let the author know what you liked or didn't like about their chapter. Any sort of input you can offer the writer helps.

Of course, I understand if people are busy and don't have much time, but reviews don't have to be long! A quick, "Hey, I loved your story, especially when yadda yadda yadda... happened. I found a typo in this part of the story, I thought you should know about. Can't wait for the next chapter!" is greatly appreciated by all. But if you're in even MORE of a hurry than that, a "Great chapter!" can be appreciated too, especially if you come back for the next chapter and mention a few things you liked about the last one as well.

And remember: If you review, there's a good chance people will return the favor. I have to admit that I should be better about this, but if you ask me to review, I always will. :)
