My name is Vickie and I live in Cow Town, (Calgary, AB) Canada. I'm originally from Edmonton (Edmonton FTW!) and I've spent 7 wonderful, life-changing years up in the NWT, in Fort Smith and Yellowknife. I'm here in Calgary to continue my illustrious career as a student and I'm hoping to get accepted into the University of Calgary next fall to continue working for my BSc in Engineering! No matter how many times I change my mind, I'll always come back to you, baby :)
When I'm not melting my brain at school, I'm a Gamer, straightforward as that. I'm a Nintendo Girl forever, but I still love my good ol' bulky 1st gen PS-2. I'm an on-again-off-again online gamer, my peak periods are usually spent on IRE's "Achaea: Dreams of Divine Lands" text MUD but I have dabbled quite extensively in Conquer Online, Ragnorok, Maple Story and Gunbound, to name a few.
I'm diabetic but you wouldn't know it unless I told you. I'm a lover of fine food and I try to keep my diabetes under control with my sports filled life. I am a soccer fanatic (I play goal!) and hope to keep being involved with it in the future, either as a amateur player or coach. I am a martial arts enthusiast but limited resources where I've lived for the past 5 or 6 years has kind of subdued my participation somewhat. I'm an appreciator of old school kung fu movies and classic fight choreography though!
I'm a knowledge sponge and I'm always wondering or contemplating something. My bookshelves (you know you might have a problem when you have multiple bookshelves filled with all your own books...and you're only 17!) are filled with fact books, encyclopedias, fiction, non-fiction, and biographies. I've taught myself (among many other things) how to juggle, do yoga/pilates/tai-chi, build a bookshelf (I haven't yet, amazingly), and use a divining (dee-v-eye-ning) pendulum. I have an obsession to be in the know about every little thing. Can you guess I'm great at trivia?
I have a big sister, Marivic, and I love her like only a little sister could. I never had to deal with the evil big sibling scenarios my friends all had to. It's a whole new thing living with her now, I hope I'm making her proud. She's married to the most awesome brother-in-law ever, Clifford. The closest thing I've had to an actual brother is my cousin Stefan. We've known each other forever and I can honestly say he's one of my best friends. He's as lazy as I am and a pretty smart guy. He's a few months younger than me but as big as an ox, so I save him from his smart-alec mouth and he stands bodyguard, looking menacing (Which, if you knew him, is a look as genuine as paper pants)
And to finish, I want to mention my girls, Tammi and Liz. I don't know when you guys will see this but I want you two to know that you're both my biggest inspiration when I write. Thanks for being there as I "grew up" and letting me be me. I love you!
