Im here most probably for the same reason that many (if not all) of you are here for...to write and read! Share the love of literature and get some pointers on how to hone our own writing skills. Though i dont know whether id call myself technically a 'writer' as i dabble when i feel the urge to but rarely complete anything. I own many hated works that never see the light of day and even more ideas that never make it off the ground (and if they do they tend to burst into flame and crash pretty quickly).
