| DontMakeMeOver |
Author has written 31 stories for Politics, School, Humor, Life, Fable, Young Adult, Family, Friendship, Love, Fantasy, and Romance. Hey, I'm Kristen. I'm 18 and I live near Chicago Illinois. That's it about that... Most of the stuff that I write is very random, except in the case of school stuff, obviously. I hope you like them... They rhyme, so that's okay I suppose... They don't all rhyme any more. I decided I'd tell a little more about myself, just to personalize things a little bit. For one thing, I'm an English major, so very rarely will you ever find spelling/grammar errors in my writing, which is good, I think, especially considering I write on WordPad and do all the corrections off the top of my head with no SpellCheck. My Pen Name: My pen name, DontMakeMeOver, is a name I use a lot, including on my LiveJournal. It comes from a Burt Bacharach song that I really like. My Favorite Movies: There are some movies out there that have quite well-written stories, even when the premise itself isn't necessarily philisophical or serious. Among these movies, I would include Garden State, Bride and Prejudice, and How to Deal. I know, you're saying to yourself, "Bride and Prejudice? I could have sworn it was Pride and Prejudice." You would be correct, except that Bride and Prejudice is the name of the Bollywood movie based off the Jane Austen novel. Favorite Songs: I love songs with a clever rhythym and interesting words, such as "Build God, Then We'll Talk" by Panic At the Disco and "No Life Without Wife" by Anu Malik. Favorite Thing to Read About: I really like the themes in YA (that is, Young Adult) literature, so I read a lot of that, especially Rachel Cohn. Also, I do like some adult fantasy, such as Stephen King's Christine. Writing Quirks: I didn't notice until recently, but a lot of my stories have at least one character whose name starts with an "A". Just to name a few: Andrew, Anna, Allison, Ashley. Other than that, certain characters seem to pop up again and again, physically at least. Most of the girls I write about, for example, have long brown hair and light olive skin. This may be a case of "author injecting self into story", but who can say? Certain Interesting Facts I Think Everyone Should Know Because They Interest Me: Well, that should have told you a lot about who I am as a person, but as far as who I am as a writer? I guess that's something you'll have to discover by reading my stories and poetry. I do have to make note of the fact that I have several unfinished stories posted right now. I do mean to get back to all of them, but I have bad problems with writer's block, so it's anyone's guess when I actually will. Of course, I'll be more motivated if I see that people are interested in what I have to say. | |||||||
