About Me:
I love writing fantasy, horror, and anything rather odd, but I don't claim to be brilliant at it. Hopefully people will like what I write enough to review it...or at least have suggestions for improvement! You'll find mostly short stories here. I have little talent at poetry (or short stories, for that matter, but I like them enough to try anyway) and I have problems with commitment...thus you won't find many poems or chaptered (and complete) stories on my profile. I occasionally get distracted by sparkly objects or my desire to make movies and/or not fail in college classes but don't despair: I always come back to write something. Or maybe that is a reason to despair. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, after all.

Let's see...more about me. I'm a senior in college, majoring in geography. Before you ask, no, I don't have any idea what I'm going to do with my degree but I know that 1. there are jobs and 2. it's what I can see myself doing. I love willow trees, red leaves and sunsets but particularly both at the same time, my cat, hearing new stories, people-watching, rice pudding, salukis and papillons, blankets and throw pillows, dancing in the rain, sitting by a fire, petting llamas, spinach salads, planning for the future, daydreaming, staying busy, sci-fi shows, owls, long dresses that sparkle and billow around you when you spin, when my younger sister copies me, reading, cooking, optical illusions, and remembering one very great bike ride I had with my father. I don't understand chat speak, olive oil, or why so many underage college students drink. Can you explain any of this?

The Obligatory 'Favorite' Quote:
Oma Desala: The universe is vast and we are so small. There is only one thing we can truly control.
Daniel Jackson: What's that?
Oma Desala: Whether we are good or evil.
-Stargate SG-1 ('Meridian')

These are the larger projects I'm currently plotting, drafting, or editing:

The Winding Way: (Fantasy) A time-traveling demigod and his wife jump 400 years into the future, setting in motion events which lead to their involvement in a now centuries-old religious conflict. This one has gone through so many names now, it's hard to keep track. A merger between the Amara universe and my 2007 NaNoWriMo novel, the final product is being heavily edited before I decide if it'll ever be seen by anyone else. Right now it's looking doubtful, but who knows?

Amara: (Fantasy/Romance) A dangerous political mystery brings them together; an unanticipated bond keeps them there. TERRIBLE summary but it's all I could think of at the moment. This one's been wallowing in development for literally years but I've recently taken a new perspective on the whole thing which, I'm hoping, will work out.

The Importance of Asking Why: (Supernatural/Drama/Mystery) When a man's mother and sister are murdered, he struggles to come to terms with their deaths. Then his daughter is born and he starts on a very strange path to healing. This was NaNoWriMo 2008 and my first completed novel. Yes! I really DID finish the whole novel. It's currently undergoing a massive rewrite and as soon as that's complete, I'll start posting. I have much love for this story.
