“NO!” He shouted as he was taken away from his home, and away from the simple happiness he had once known. “I’m not going, please, don’t take me away from all I have come to know and love!” he shouted. But the Men in White would hear nothing of it. They dragged him down his steps and into the last motor vehicle he would ever see again.

“Get in there, this is your home now!” they shouted at him as they threw him into his cell. “You’re too much of a nut case to be anywhere but here!” and the door shut, and his home became the house with the padded walls.

“What’s the situation with him?” his doctor asked the people who brought him.

“Well, he refuses to leave the cell, he keeps talking to himself. He claims that there is more of him. I’ve seen some cases where the patient thinks they have more than one of themselves, but this one refuses to believe otherwise.”

“If we don’t do anything soon, he may be stuck like this forever.” His doctor said.

Late one night, he was mumbling to himself yet again. His doctor came in and told the guards to close the door. “Go away” he said. “You’re just going to say there is only one of me, well you’re not me.”

“Listen, I think that you are just confused. There is no other explanation.”

“Of course there’s not. Because you all can’t explain what you don’t understand.” He said.

“I believe that the reason you think there is more than one of you, is because you have so many thoughts trapped inside your mind. And some say that Writing can be the best way to help a person sometimes.”

He thought about it for a moment, and then asked quietly, “Can we share what we have to say with others?”

The doctor thought about what he said and then sighed, “Yes, if you want to, you can share what you write,” he then sighed again, “all of you.”

He smiled and for the first time since he was placed in there, he fell asleep soundly. Yes, I am He. I was thrown into the asylum, and today is my first day of writing.

“If you want to write, you need to write your name first,” the doctor says to me.

“Alright,” I say, “from now on, I shall be known as…
