What is your name? My name is Casey Drake.
What is your quest? To bring stories to Fikkies worldwide
Why does a girl have a name like Casey? -siiiigh-... It's an androgynous name. -pause- means it can be a boy's OR a girl's name.
That's the basics. Skip straight past "About Me" if you want to be spared the rest.
About Me:
I am the founding member of the MPC, or Mighty Pencil Club, a club for authors. If you want to join, let me know via review or email. Review preferred, but whatever.
I write mostly high-fantasy, but I will spin off a scifi or an urban fantasy once in a while.
I like to write fantasy and read fantasy, sci-fi, action/thriller, mystery, and any combination of the above; I can draw (mainly on Microsoft Paint... yeah, yeah I know), but I'm not very good at it. I also like to sing all sorts of music... well... all sorts except country, rap and some types of pop. I also like fantasy, action and scifi webcomics. Suggestions are welcome.
My favorite mythics are dragons, closely followed by phoenixes and griffins (especially Mercedes Lackey's version of gryphon).
My favorite published author(s) (right now) are Mercedes Lackey, Simon Hawke, Douglas Adams, Jennifer Rardin, Tanya Huff, Alan Dean Foster and Christopher Stasheff. I also like a lot of the authors here on FictionPress. You know who you are. If you don't then I haven't done my job.
I have a deviantART account (see link).
Enough about me.
About My Stories:
Paladin is my favorite self-written story on FP. Undergoing MAJOR revisions. Won't tell you where though, for those who have been with me since the beginning or close to it.
The Kingdom of Avadur is being attacked by Truedark mages. Dedicated to power from pain, the Truedarks want --well, don't all evil people want power? The truth is, no one really knows.
Despite this, the only people to stand in their way are Sunbright mages. Vastly outnumbered, the mages in the Sunbright mageschool want a hero. Master-third Irian Longshot thinks he can get one for them. But instead of the sword-wielding mage from ancient times, the spell he found brings me, Casey Drake, high school junior.
But what if it wasn't a mistake?
Irian pictures: Here and here thanks to Tesh and to Mayaj. And for a little comparison, my own (VERY BAD) picture of Irian... here.
Casey pictures: Here and here thanks to Mayaj (Tesh's picture is in the Irian picture. And for a little comparison, my own rather skewed picture... here.
NOTE: Several people have asked me to expand on the prologue, so i have. Also, I've finally figured out the "replace chapter" dealie so I won't take down the story anymore.
In the process of revising. Last update: 2-2-08
The Chronicles of Ralanth will be comprised of about three books (I think). Book One, Zeda, is finished. Book Two, The Ring and the Silence, is now off-line, but will come back (hopefully) in time.
This story follows Amzeda Luke and her friend and companion Petro through a maze of bandits and revenge, cities and survival. I'm terrible at summaries, especially with this one; I give too much away.
Picture of Zeda: here.
On indefinite hiatus... Last Update 11-15-05
The Rock-a-Bye Murders is my first attempt at tragedy/horror, and my first decent short story.
Jon and Deirdre Warren, father and daughter, are the owners of the Grandview Children's Museum. But when the Chamber of Commerce refuses to give them their grant one year, to force them to close, Jon goes into a rage. Deirdre has no idea how deadly her father can be...

A Single Word is a one-shot. I wrote it, as I mention in the story itself, after a life-changing fundraiser called Sleep Out Saturday. This is, hopefully, one of the best short stories I have ever written. At least, it's the most thought-provoking one.
Note: Sleep Out Saturday is a fundraiser sponsored by Bridge Communities. Please spread the word to your county, to your state, to your country, because no one should have to sleep in a box, a tent, or a car because they have nowhere else to go. Start your own Sleep Out Saturday.
One-shot
Outcast was my first FP story, and I finally got my act together to revise and repost it while I work out Paladin difficulties.
Miri Ilsari is a bastard. Not THAT type, the other type. She knows it, and so does everyone else. What they don't know is that her father, his name known only by Miri's mother, was one of an enemy people, giving her the "cursed" red coloring of eye and hair. Finally discovered after seventeen careful years of hiding in plain sight, Miri is Outcasted from her town and from Stonegard Valley, forced into the desert beyond the mountains known as the Dragon's Teeth, prey to the dragon-people, enemies of the Valley... and the dragons those people are named for. But there's something else neither the Valleypeople nor Miri herself knows...
This healer's daughter has no idea what she's getting into...

Heart of a Dragon
is my first attempt at no-shaeli romance-romance. -shrug- tell me if it worked, will ya?
DO NOT READ THIS UNTIL AFTER CHAPTER FOUR OF OUTCAST. This is VITALLY IMPORTANT! There are major spoilers.
So, this is some history for you, and a lot of Mandragori (the language, not the people).

Perfect Day
My experiences of 9-11-06. Yes, that is the ending.

About my Song
"Paladin: The Song" is a parody of the Elton John song "Rocket Man." AS you might have figured out, it goes with the story of the same name (above).

Notes
2-8-08
I'd almost forgotten what it was like to get reviews.
4-15-07
After I put Tesh's and my collaboration 'The Equals' up, we decided to make it a webcomic. We both figured that that was the best format for an otherwise awkward style. Many changes have already been made to the story since the original. So I'm taking down The Equals, and when the webcomic starts, I'll put a link up. Thankies, CD
10-26-06
Since the new FP has review response URLs, I'll respond using those rather than on my site, which considerably shortens it. If more than one person asks the same question or makes the same comment, I'll answer it here.

Thanks and Final Comments
Muchas gracias to Falkner, my first reviewer, Mya von Dor, my first (signed) reviewee, and Krisian Rose, who introduced me to Fictionpress with her (as yet unfinished) story Quest for the Crystal.
Review my tales and I'll return the favor at one point or another. Constructive criticism is appreciated, flaming is not.
I don't fave-author people anymore, but I DO Author-Alert authors I like.
BEWARE!! As Celyn says, I'm a "spoiler demon", meaning that just because of my nature, I try to guess what happens next sometimes in my reviews, so don't get mad if I do so. I try not to, but... yeah. I also tend to be extraordinarily eloquent in my reviews. Those who have gotten a review of mine... you know what I mean...
Email or PM me whenever if you've got questions or wanna talk.
Just tune in, turn off, drop out, drop in, switch off, switch on, and explode. Er, that is, enjoy. XD
By my hand--or rather, keyboard,
