I was a journalist for a few years, but now I'm a freelance writer. A hundred years ago I would be traveling the Mississippi river, with a notepad and a fountain pen, writing poetry for rich folk on steamboats and such. I would gamble away all my money and lose an eye in a knife fight.

But now I'm just writing/editing stories that I never had enough time to finish. So discipline is my mantra.
