Well, hello there, readers!
I've been noticing a lot of you are deviating toward Quest for Athanasia. Quest for Athanasia was a fun romp, to be sure, buuuut... it's terrible now. Cliche characters, used up premise... it's terrible, man. The dialog was shoddy-- the whole thing was unbelieveable! And sooo...~! I wrote a new version. It's called "Athanasian Petals".
8/20/08:
I'm almost finished with the first official chapter of Athanasian Petals and I'm so psyched to get back into Dimarchai again. So psyched that I actually used the word "psyched". ... I know, right? What am I thinking?
My Stories:
I'm definitely going to be culling, readers. Though I'm sad to say my crap work is definitely the more popular... Why, you guys? Whyyy? I'm crying a little on the inside. Anyway, for all the crap work on my profile, it will now be labelled with a "CW" in the title. Hard to miss, I know. CW, by the way...? It stands for crap work. Which it is. Read it at your own peril. I'll post a list of works I'm actually working on here. At the moment, I only have a rough idea.
Athanasian Petals:
This story centers around a young woman named Serena Dewitt. Serena is experiencing a form of "alienation of the individual", and is therefore feeling displaced among contemporaries. After learning about superpostition-- an uncertainty principle in quantum mechanics-- Serena is inexplicably placed in that figurative box, with the hammer and vial of cyanide. After being hit by a truck, she finds herself in a completely different persona who died at the very same time. Naive and unaided, Serena-- in the body of a marked woman named Lenore Beckwith-- travels through a land of raging oddities and political squabbles in hopes of finding her way home.
That's just a wordy bio, though. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WANT THE MAGIC AND FUN TIEMS AND OMG:
Serena dies, is hit by a truck, and finds herself in Magickland! All right, so it's not actually called that. She meets fun people, and there are vampires and shapeshifters and omg!!11! ... Granted, said vampires don't really have "fangs" and owe most of their odd mannerisms to psychoses... And the shapeshifters have incredibly annoying limitations... but, you know... saying all that makes the fun tiem go away. And...! And...! ... Come on, it's a fantasy story. It's not heavy reading or anything... it's got a "rambling style" that really characterizes the work, one reviewer said. So... it's apparently not terrible to read or anything. Just give it a shot.
IT'S QUEST FOR ATHANASIA, ALBEIT WITH A GOOD PLOT, CHARACTERS, AND WRITING STYLE!
Miniver Cheevy, anyone?
