Hey...
I'm Cat, and I've currently got two stories to my name. Vampyre Heart and Vampyre Soul! Huzzah! Plus, some poetry that is okay, I suppose. But I'll let you decide that. Of course.
By the way: I am very very very tired of SOME people who come on here and
then aren't very original at all. I've read SO many stories on here
that are WAY too close for comfort to the characters of Anita Blake
books. I love those books, and vampires, and werewolves, and that whole
scene, but I don't think people need to be using the same plot and
characters in their own ORIGINAL stories. I know, you can't write LKH
stuff on FanFiction, but FictionPress is original fiction. Y'know, your
OWN characters and your OWN plotline. That you come up with. From your
IMAGINATION. You can even use some of the info, if you find it yourself
(and trust me, I have found all of that information in Vampyre Heart,
chapter one). But please, don't make a vampire
hunter/necromancer/dating the vampires/screwing everything in sight
character. I love those books, and it shows. But leave Anita to Laurell
K. Hamilton, and leave the others to their authors.
UPDATE:
Due to some less than competent readers that "judge books by their
covers," I have removed the first chapter of Vampyre Heart. My
apologies to those that enjoyed the chapter, but once you're accused of
plagiarism, it comes down. Perhaps now people will actually read
a story before saying its plotline is the same as Anita Blake. I
don't think I've read the AB:VH book that is like Vampyre Heart, and
I've read them all. So next time you decide to say I'm copying
off of another author, why don't you just read the story first?
Dukes of Stabbard lives on in the hearts of those that stab.
It everything you never wanted to hear, but have been curious about for your entire life.
Love and crumpets to Peter, Reginald, Molly, Betsy, Patricia, and, of course, that loveable street urchin, Anne.
So, if you enjoy my writing, go right ahead, give me someone to chat with on AIM, MSN (handle: vampyreheart0929@yahoo.com) messenger, and Yahoo Messenger.
Or e-mail me. It's all quite up to you.
So there you have it, I have displayed myself on the cutting board. Be gentle with your scalpel as you poke and prod.
The Stories
Vampyre Heart: The
first part of my pride and joy! Ah, this story is complete. Originally
it was based on my friends, but I found that the characters took on
their own life, so they could no longer be held back by the limitations
of real life people.
Vampyre Soul: This is the sequel to Vampyre Heart, and its still just a baby. However, its taking off quickly, and,
hopefully, it will be as much of a success as its mommy (VH) was.
The Poems
Nervous I May Be: This
poem was an assignment for an English class. We were told to write a
sonnet, which has the rhyme scheme ABAB-CDCD-EFEF-GG. So, yes, the
rhyming is forced, but this one isn't in iambic pentameter.
She's Looking At Me With Her One Good Eye:
This poem... is also referred to as "Oh Snap!" because it was the first
poem that was so forced that I ended up despising it in the end. This
was another assignment for English class, where we were assigned a
speaker for the poem. My speaker was "The last man on Earth, and the
last woman is hideous." So you can see my dilemma.
Emoti: After
I finished this poem, I just sat back and looked at it. This is one
poem that I am very very proud of. Even though it was yet another
English assignment, I was glad to write this. We were to choose our own
speaker this time, something different from anything that we thought
someone else would choose. So, I chose an
emotion. This is one poem that I could never duplicate, that I know.
IDK: After
hearing the same answer to a lot of different questions, I had to write
something down about it. This is what came of hearing "I don't know"
day after day.
Sonnet of the Heartbeat: Another
sonnet, the rhyme scheme is listed above. I attempted iambic pentameter
with this one, surprisingly. I think it turned out at least halfway
decent.
The One-Shots
Mama Knows Best:
This was written after I stared at a little plastic bluebird for five
minutes, then wrote for ten minutes straight. Originally part of my
journal for Creative Writing, now it is a one-shot.
Passion of the Dance:
This was also one of the ten-minute writings from my journal. I was
watching one of those dancing shows on television, but not Dancing with
the Stars. This was simply wonderful to write.
Fracture:
This was part of my final project for Creative Writing. It's different
from what I've done before--and I like that. I had to write this
because I had written the "prologue" and left it hanging where nobody
wanted it to stop. So, here is Fracture.
