Welcome to the little place on FP.C where I, a Lady at Large, can be found.

A little about myself, hm. I'm a huge optimist, and I prefer happy endings to stories. My own life has had moments in it when I've cringed and wondered if *I* would ever get a happy ending, so now I feel duty-bound to give such to my characters. Real life is harsh enough...so why not give happy endings to stories? I honestly refuse to see movies that end badly...Pearl Harbor, Titanic, City of Angels...etc.

I'm a sophomore in college, majoring in English, planning to get a master's in Library Science, though everything is always subject to change, of course. That's the one thing I've learned about college so far-Plans change. Get over it, accept it, such is life. As the late, and great, Douglas Adams has said: "I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I intended to be."

I'm not yet in the process of working on my own happily ever after, though I have found myself one very charming little frog that may make me a great prince one day. Yup. He's My Precious.

I love to read, and read EVERYTHING. From biographies, to histories, to fantasy, to westerns, to sci-fi...etc. Top ten books:

1. Lord of the Rings (Series), J.R.R. Tolkien
2. Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen
3. The Taming of the Shrew, William Shakespeare
4. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams
5. Beauty, Robin McKinley
6. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, (And the WHOLE SERIES, but that's just my favorite one...Sirius...) J.K. Rowling
7. A Woman Named Damaris, Janette Oke
8. Slaughterhouse-5, Kurt Vonnegut
9. Love Among the Walnuts, Jean Ferris
10. The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde

As you see, I am pathetically low on original works right now. I prefer to post them once I finish them. I'm currently writing three... I have Writer's Block on one and am devoting a lot of attention to another, and a third isn't even an original work but something for FF.N.

I do have a Sestina Poem, as you can see, which I quite enjoyed writing. I'm thinking of posting an Essay or two. And, if you look under my pen name on FF.N you'll find the one Fanfiction I do have posted. It's a fic from "The Mummy" movies, starring the handsome Ardeth Bay (the hot Arabic guy, for those who don't know him) and I'm very proud of it.

I'm finally posting the bits of "May the Birds Bring Down the Dragon," a romantic adventure that is already promising to be quite long and detailed.

I really love my characters, for the sol reason that I've never met anyone like them before. :-) As authoress Tamora Pierce has said of her characters, I don't quite feel like I control them, rather that I check in to see how they're doing from time to time.

Anyway, that's all I have for now. Enjoy the ride through FP.C, and remember...be Dragon Friendly!

UPDATE:

There's been a request that I make my FF.Net link available. If you click on my "Homepage" link up there...^^^^^^, you'll see my FF.Net link. I have the same pen name there as here, if that helps any. :-) There's only one story there, however, and it was written some time ago. I'm hoping to have more work up there soon. Thanks for the interest!
