Author has written 2 stories for Sci-Fi. I have not been on FictionPress in about a year and due to how I've grown as a person and how my writing has improved, I have removed several of my old stories and redone my profile. I've improved tremendously and I will work on adding some of my more recent works. Age: 17 (I can see R-rated movies on my own now! XD) School year: Senior in high school About me: I'm easygoing, a good listener, an idealist, an optimist (most of the time), shy, open to only those closest to me, vertically-challenged, an observer, ditzy, loyal, and kind. Likes: Anime, manga, video games, reading, writing, chocolate, pie, guitars, my boyfriend, my friends, Matt Bellamy, awesome art, politics, The Daily Show + The Colbert Report + Scrubs + House, RENT Dislikes: People who pretend to be my friend who then just go backstab me, discrimination of any kind, not being able to sing, how lazy I am, narrow-minded people, fake people, ignorance, immaturity, irresponsibility, people who don't respect the news (when it should be respected--journalists do go through a lot to get the news), many politicians Favorite games: Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss, Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy, Super Smash Bros. series, Ace Attorney and Apollo Justice series. Favorite book: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card as well as the other books in the Ender and Bean series/1984 by George Orwell (who also happens to be my favorite writer; I love reading his essays)/The Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. Favorite anime/manga: Spiral: Suiri no Kizuna, Death Note, Yu Yu Hakusho, Fruits Basket, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gunslinger Girl, Hell Girl, Rurouni Kenshin, D.N.Angel, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ouran High School Host Club, .hack//SIGN, Chrono Crusade, Wolf's Rain, Naruto, Azumanga Daioh, Bleach, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Chobits, Magic Knight Rayearth, Paranoia Agent, The Wallflower, and Sensual Phrase. I also ADORE Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series. Little Kuriboh is a genius! Favorite movies: Rent, Juno, The Pursuit of Happyness, Star Wars, Star Trek, all of the Monty Python stuff, Dogma, Moulin Rouge, Clerks I + II, Mallrats. Favorite music: Muse (I love you Matt Bellamy! I let out a squee when I saw them live), Linkin Park, Within Temptation, Nine Inch Nails, Thirsty Merc, My Chemical Romance, Rammstein, Coldplay, U2, Rage Against the Machine, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, The Rolling Stones, Franz Ferdinand, Placebo, Jimmy Eat World, Evanescence, Flyleaf, H.I.M., Snow Patrol, and Guns N' Roses. As a writer: I'm a journalist and essayist at heart, but I still love creative writing. I'm still developing my own style, but I think I've grown tremendously since I first started writing. My sentence structure has definitely become more complex and I use varying punctuation (I call myself "the dash whore" because I love using dashes so much, but I still work semicolons into everything that I can). I admire George Orwell very much for not only his writing ability, but also for his political ideas. According to my English teacher, he and I are very similar when it comes to our political views. I've been writing regularly since the third grade. It wasn't until second grade when I began to enjoy writing; I was very stubborn in first grade as well as kindergarten and I usually refused or just hated the writing assignments. My writing began as fanfics (although I had not realized they were classified as fanfictions at the time) from mostly The Legend of Zelda and Star Fox games. Then I moved onto Yu Yu Hakusho fanfics and once I played Tales of Symphonia for the first time, I could not help writing about it. I didn't really begin writing original stories until the beginning of high school, and even then they weren't very great. I've started very many stories and I seldom finish them because I have zero discipline. But finally, for the first time, I'm willing to push myself to actually write a NOVEL. It's just as George Orwell said, "Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven on by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand." I would like to thank my journalism teacher and tenth and eleventh grade English teacher so much for everything they've done for me. I've never had better teachers than the two of them and they consistently challenge me as a writer and as a person. It's thanks to them that I have excelled so much.
