Update 27 February 2009: There are few story lines that I have not posted here. You can find Black and the younger muse generation at http://rhianon76.livejournal.com. Black also has a personal outlet in my muse community, http://community.livejournal.com/black_talk. I look forward to hearing from my readers (don't all starving writers, though?). Yes, it is their fault that so many of the stories listed here have not been updated in what seems like forever! heh wink

Welcome to all the prospectively new & curious readers that may find their way to this page. I figured it was time to rearrange a few things.

Few things about me for the curious:

Abigail Radle is a pseudonym. I also go by Rhi, Mom, and various other more slanderous references. :) I'm not a teenager; I have a Bachelor's degree in E-Business, and an MBA. No, that doesn't instantaneously transform me into a good writer, or even increase my chances of breaking into print. I do like to think, however, that my education has furthered, and in some ways honed, my skills. But it's likely that belief is simply another facet of my delusional tendencies.

I have been drafting, editing, and rewriting on The Dance Master Chronicles since I was a teenager. The story has come a very long way since that time... and branched off in unexpected directions as well. Also, the versions you will find here are not final drafts, but merely the first, second, or third in a line of many. Some now make me cringe when I read them, due to the proliferation of mistakes, and others have already evolved a long way from what you'll read here. If you're actually bothering to read this and would be interested in reading, commenting and/or critiquing more recent drafts, please email me. I take my art seriously and given the nature of the electronic publishing industry, I am not interested in jeopardizing potential first rights to a publisher down the road.

My avatar is a sketch of a character from the Dance Master Chronicles, done by me a really long time ago. :)

As with any work, please respect the copyright at the bottom of the page, and the sanctity of original artwork (whatever form it takes).

Oh, one last thing before I begin summarily ranting about my stories. If you read and review my works, Yes. I will return the favor to the best of my ability. :)

Story news/updates:

My latest addition: The First One Always Stays With You:

July 13, 2006 ~ So if you're on my journal at all, it's likely you already know Zentrillae well. If not, take a gander and share your thoughts. This was a short work (posted in full and complete here) penned for a sci-fi genre writing contest. Apparently it's not my strong suit. I would love to hear what everyone else thinks, however, as I am struggling to improve/hone my skills in a variety of different ways. ... And if it gets a strong enough response, I just might revisit this deranged alternative futuristic reality.

Doth's Story:

May 13, 2006 ~ The timeline setting for this tale is the spring after the winter events depicted in Part II. Yes, there are slight spoilers, and major ones too, I guess, for those of you who haven't read to the end of what is posted. Yes I realize there's a substantial gap, thus making it difficult. I am working on remedying that.

Summary: Jess's brother carries the scars of his father's death, his father's lies, and his father's mistakes. Taken under the nurturing wing of the Brotherhood, he finds even his father's truths aren't all that they seemed.

I will make attempts to keep this one updated regularly. Doth is about as dependable as a case of diarrhea, though... sporadic, intense, and every time it plagues you, you just beg for it to go away. nods I want to stress that while he's been a character from the outset of the Chronicles inception, he remained a secondary character for a very LONG time. Seems he was waiting for me to get comfortable enough to accept his inevitable choice of sexual preferences. Yes, my lovelies, this is an M/M work.

The Dance Master Part One "Dancing In Circles":

(27 Feb '09) In the throes of a very heavy rewrite, this story has almost reached what I like to call "zero draft". If you're interested in reading, commenting on, or offering critique on the newer version, please drop me a line and let me know.

The Dance Master Chronicles, Part II: On hiatus.
Due to the massive rewrites of the work above, this piece is now stalled indefinitely. It will return, likely later next year, in rewritten form. I will, however, be taking this version down in the near future.

On the Verge: Relegated to the back burner.

I feel the need to offer some background -- for those of you who actually read this.

This story is based on a dream -- a frighteningly vivid one -- I had back in the mid 90's. 1997, I think. It is supposed to be set in a futuristic period of time, but only a few years into the future (say, five?). At any rate, I did character sketches from my dream, gave it a vague plot outline and a first chapter, and hadn't touched it since. Right now the chapters are more of a sappy romance than anything else; they won't stay that way -- they will be fleshed out with a more complete plot story, involving Vanessa, Draklar, and Raej as well as Vanessa's volatile professional relationship with the naturalized Brit. At the moment, however, I am spending my time getting reacquainted with the dynamic characters that are the focus of the story, more than anything else, and I'm having a wonderful time doing it. Just wanted y'all to know that I intend for it to bemore than hormones and emotional psycho-babble.

5/4/06~ Despite the readership for this story, it is unfortunately (and rather obviously) taking a seat on the back burner for a short time. It's not dead. I could not do that to Richard. He was in desperate need of some muse-counseling and an extended vacation in Bora-Bora. Wherever that is. Go ask Vin Diesel lol.

7/1/06~ Thanks to all the ghost-readers, OTV has now surpassed 5k hits. In celebration and appreciation, I will be making a concerted effort to make Doth shut up long enough to update some time during the month of July. I apologize to all of you for the horrendously long wait. Please believe me when I say that none of my muses seem to appreciate the distraction my MBA classes are creating. :S ... Soon, my pretties, soon.

Eddies of Sacrifice:

The story of Jessamine Myfala's mother, birthed from the Goddess knows how many inquiries about whether the woman is actually dead, still alive, buried under a rock, etc. So, in all honesty, I have this entirely plotted out, but knowing Jess her mother isn't likely to make this easy. Especially since a very unexpected character literally leapt into the story in the beginning of the very first chapter! grumbles So much for following the outline ... Can I hire a hitman to rid me of this collection of muses that don't seem to be able to make up their minds? Now I know why writer's block hits me. The muses can't stop fighting long enough to tell me what's supposed to happen next! grr

11/29/05~ Well the story is uploaded, though how coherent it is I cannot say. I make no guarantees! (This story is in desperate need of an edit and rewrite, but will have to wait until some future point in time to be completed. Read at your own risk, and be forewarned that if you aren't familiar with the world of TDM Chronicles, you're likely to be lost... and I don't send search parties. :p~~)

The Karcte Chronicles:

There are three separate entities to this "series" of stories: (1) Learym: the realm of the pekna race, (2) Ghrem: the realm of the elven race, & (3) Mortighan: the realm of the human race. These stories address the psychology of relationships more than anything else at this point, and are riddled with a good deal of character introspection. Not for the light reader. There is a great deal of this manuscript lying about in composition notebooks, so it will likely only be updated when writer's block plagues me.
