Hi there, and welcome to my profile! I'm theLethean, first known as bluedarkness when I joined fp back in 2005. Since then, I've posted more than 10 stories here... and deleted them all about a year back when I decided to leave. That didn't take, so here I am again, posting new stories and regretting deleting the old!

Though I've mostly written SF in the past, my talent lies with my second favourite genre, horror - especially when it's paired with post-apocalypse or urban fantasy. Happily, I just happen to have a penchant for dark urban fantasy. My other forte is humour, though this could be wishful thinking on my part. Just be warned I have an odd sense of humour!

Notes on my stories:

Efficiency (crime) Inspired by my weird wonderings at what motive I would have if I ever became a serial killer, and mapping the answer - curiosity - out into a vignette. Ironically, one of the character's musings later became a theme of its own in Future Lost.

Hell's Garden (horror) This was written as part of a writing exercise to envision my dark side. This is the first part. I never did do the second part - which was twisting it until I find humour in it.

Future Lost (science fiction) My attempt at SF with a theme... technology taking care of humanity's needs, the mass desensitisation of society, the need for novelty and excitement, and how even an observer can be subtly locked into its way of thinking without realising it. Is that a world worth living in? More importantly, am I successful or am I just babbling about a morbid story? You decide.

Tales of the Scionverse (supernatural/horror) Evolved from a previous 'verse of mine, the Faeverse, where fae and demons - fought by the human and not-so-human Families - fought a secret war in contemporary times. I like to think of the Scionverse as the Faeverse's darker, more bloodthirsty older sister. Not sure why.
