7/14/08: I'm excited to announce my new story, Beatty & The Beast has been released to the world! Please check it out if you haven't yet. Feedback would be phenomenal.
I put the Beatty & The Beast section at the top of the list, so links and all that jazz are just a wee bit down south...
7/08/08: So now that all my sequels are back up I'll be working on posting new stuff. My next story should be coming soon because I have a pretty good amount of it written and the rest of it planned out quite carefully, so keep your eyes peeled!
6/21/08: Wahoo! So I just found out the Chasing Mathesons series has been nominated for best series at the SKoW Awards! So, crap, I got to get the rest of it posted, don't I?!
Thanks for the nomination! This is so cool!
Much Better has been nominated for Most Memorable at SKoW! For Pete's sake guys! This is awesome!
6/14/08: Finished fixing up and reposting Mad World today, yay! I also put a preview and a few excerpts for one of my next stories, When World Collide, on the last two chapters of MW, since WWC is related to the Ordinary World series. You can check it out if you're curious.
10/25/07: Hey! Here's the link to my site with most of my story drawings: www.winkypproductions.com They're namely in the "Illustrations/Sketches" section. The book covers are in the "Ads" section under "book covers" (who knew?)
The image links that remain here on my profile are of the pictures that aren't on my website.
This is info about my works, just in case you're curious...
Beatty & The Beast:
To get to the companion site of the story, go to www.winkypproductions.com. When you get to the page with the big Winky P. logo (the one that winks at you when you roll the cursor over it) go as far right as possible and there should be a little rectangle with a rose in it. Click that and you should be set!
Off the Page:
I wrote it in about a week. It's a bit different for me because I wrote it in chronological order (whereas I usually write bits and pieces of a story and then connect them all later) and I tried to be less uptight about it. So I essentially wrote a chapter, read over it maybe twice and then posted it. So it's rough, definitely rough, but I'm just winging it I guess.
Someday I may expand it into a longer work, but at the moment I was trying to keep it relatively short, since I have a habit of making things a bit long-winded. We'll see, we'll see...
Much Better
This was essentially my fantasy back in high school, what I WISHED happened to me.
Oh, and somebody asked why he's "Lincoln Duncan" : I basically think Paul Simon is a lyrical genius so any chance I get to pay homage to him in my writing I take. In this story I named a character after one of his songs, Duncan, which has the line: "Lincoln Duncan is my name and here's my song, here's my song." So that's why. Plus, he's a weird dude, he should have a weird name.
Cast List: (Just for fun)
Jamie ~ Lincoln (Link)
Six Feet from Paradise: (a SKoW Winner! Huzzah!)
This was the first story I actually kept up with and finished. It was what gave me this crazy idea that I might be a writer and it essentially became my obsession for a good five years.
10/25/07: Wanna see the drawings? Go to www.winkypproductions.com and go to the "Illustrations/Sketches" section. The book cover is in the "ads" section.
SFFP fan art by the lovely faux-prada (or Bee): paradise ~ maui ~ hospital
FYI: The bibliography and songs quoted info has been moved to the last chapter of SFFP. No more links to the songs, sorry!
Ordinary World:(A SKoW winner!)
I started this one during my freshman year of college while I was obsessed with The 10th Kingdom, so don't be surprised if you see a few similiarities.
11/09/07: Somebody asked how one pronounces "Aoife." My Gaelic name research says it's pronounced like "ee-feh" but for some annoying reason I immediately think and say "ay-fah," probably because I'm a stupid American who is thrown off by the idea that a name starting with "A" would be pronounced with an "ee" sound. I guess I like the sound of my pronunciation better too, it's prettier to me -"ay-fah" as opposed to "ee-feh"- but whatever. I still love how it's spelled, even if it confuses me, it's also a very pretty looking name LOL.
Pictures and drawings of characters:
10/25/07: Wanna see the drawings? Go to www.winkypproductions.com and go to the "Illustrations/Sketches" section.
Cast list: Along with the actors I have chosen I added sketches (to those who have them) to show how I envision the characters and how the actor matches my vision...ya know? It's just for fun, if you don't agree that's fine.
Elizabeth ~ Rafe ~ Phillipe ~ Hegra ~ Katerina ~ Aoife ~ Corrigan ~ Peter
Robin_Hood ~ The_Mad_Hatter ~ The_Lady_of_the_Mirror ~ Merlin
Suggested (partial) Soundtrack:
- "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran (Who saw that one coming?)
- "Book of Days" "Only If" and "Storms in Africa" by Enya from the album "Paint the Sky with Stars" ("Only If" goes with the chapter of the same name, obviously. "Storms in Africa" has a good "running through the woods" feel.)
- "The Drunken Piper" by Natalie MacMaster with Cookie Rankin from the "Women of the World: Celtic II" album. (This is the song Rafe dances to with the faeries.) Here's the video on YouTube. It's kinda lame, so it's best to just close your eyes and imagine dancing faeries with a big dancing Rafe instead of watching it.
Mad World:
Alright, it's steadily returning :) All drawings relating to this story can be found at my website, www.winkypproductions.com
Go to the Illustrations section, then the Ordinary World section and then the Minor Characters page. They're at the bottom.
Castlist basically remains the same for those characters from Ordinary World in this sequel. New ones will be added when their chapters come up.
Castlists: Gadrick ~ Martin ~ Jack
Some drawings: My website is a bit on the fritz right now (in that I currently can't update it) so this will have to do. I've been doodling a lot lately with these characters and have been pretty pleased with how they've turned out. I'm hoping to draw all the rest of the characters from this story and then combine them all into a sort of poster collage thing. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen but what I have so far works for me.
Rafe_&_Elizabeth - She looks the most unrealistic of the bunch, so Rafe looks pretty realistic next to her, but eh, I still really like this one. It shows their tension and yet how they obviously can't live without the other...I love juxtapositions like that.
Ren - Every time I draw this kid he tends to look older than he is supposed to be, so this version works for me. He looks like a four-year-old to me now, which is a relief. Just imagine sparks or a blast of light coming from his raised hand. I haven't gotten a chance to add those in yet.
Gadrick_&_Relic - This is like the third incarnation of this pose with these two. I think they'll always appear like this because it's the only way to show tiny Relic and big Gadrick clearly. So far I think this is my favorite incarnation.
Peter_Piper - He turned out way more realistic than I intended him to. I was trying to give these particular drawings a style that was realistic but still a bit, I don't know, not realistic. Ha ha! But Pete here turned out to be pretty real-looking. I'm not about to throw him out for it though. I love how he turned out. He just looks like a good slimy bastard, ya know?
Jack_the_Giant_Killer - Love how he turned out too. Out of the sky pirate brood I only have him and Todd drawn so far but I plan to get Tim and Martin into the mix soon.
Todd_Wolf - Aw...he's so sensitive! :)
I did a portrait of Robin Hood but he's just not as handsome as he should be, so I think I'm going to redo it. He'll be up here soon!
Chasing Mathesons series
A series of three to be exact.
10/25/07: Wanna see the book covers? Go to www.winkypproductions.com and go to the "Ads" section then click on the "Book Covers" link.
10/17/07: New Cast Lists added
This is what happens when you can't sleep one night and have a bout of pointless creativity.
Visions of You: Maggie ~ David ~ Deb ~ Colin ~ Janie ~ Danny ~ Patrick
Story of You: Danny ~ Janie ~ Anderson ~ Maggie ~ David ~ Deb ~ Ahmaire_Rashiimi ~ Calhoun ~ Deirdre ~ George_Fisherman ~ Faye ~ The_Ill_Twins
(The kids - Simon, Molly, Ory, Finn and Beo - won't have any casting options, mostly because there aren't a lot of child actors out there that I can stand and those that I can don't match any of these characters in the slightest. So imagination is needed with them!)
Speaking of You: Ory ~ Simon ~ Finn ~ Molly ~ Beo ~ Matty ~ The_'Rents ~ Mrs_Trudeau
Finnatic.com chapters: (Please don't read them all in one go! Read them as they go with the story! Otherwise you'll spoil things or you'll just be confused. K? Thanks!)

-Finnatic.com #2 (Chapter 14): click_here
-Finnatic.com #3 (Chapter 22): click_here

Deb's Costume Party: (the artwork the characters are basing their costumes off of)
Deb & Ahmaire: Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini's Apollo_&_Daphne
Simon: Leonardo da Vinci's St_John_the_Baptist
Molly: J. Howard Miller's We_Can_Do_It!
Finn: Francisco Goya's As_Far_Back_As_His_Grandfather
Beo & Matty: Pablo Picasso's L'Aubade
Maggie & David: Grant Wood's American_Gothic
Danny & Janie: Alfred Eisenstaedt's V.J._Day_in_Times_Square
Ory: Nike_of_Samothrace (This is my favorite sculpture ever and one of my favorite pieces of art! So cool!)
Ory's Style
Here's little scribbles of the crazy wig/clothes concoctions Ory comes up with during SpOY.
- Her black and red wig from chapter 3 ("Are You Talkin' ta Me?"), the "pumpkin head" ensemble (ch. 6 "Chlorine and Freckles"), and what she wore when she went back to church (ch. 19 "The Other Woman") Ignore the chapters and titles I have on the pic, they're wrong now :) Styles_group_1
- The "autumnal" wig. This is a pic from a website by a girl named Katie Bair. She designs and makes wigs and they are CRAZY incredible! I envy her talent! You should check them out (I based a few of Ory's wigs off of her designs, including the "autumnal" one) the site address is on the pic: autumnal_wig
- Her club attire (ch. 27 "Don't Hate the Player"), The "Candy Cane Tart" (ch. 29 "But She Was in His") and the outfit she wore when she was reaquainted with Simon (ch. 4 "Oh the Cleverness of Me!") Again, some of the chapter numbers and titles are wrong on the actual artwork, so ignore them. Styles_group_2
Ory & Simon Portrait: Some of you might remember that there was also a Finn and Molly portrait attached to this Ory and Simon one, but I took it off because I wasn't really in love with it and want to do it over. So until that happens, there's just Ory and Simon...this portrait I DO love, I must say.
Ore_and_Sy
Ghost Not Forgotten
I don't have any portraits or drawings of these two and probably never will. I don't know, some stories demand me to draw the characters and some just don't, like this one.
However, I did make a book cover I'm rather fond of. It's on my website, www.winkypproductions.com in the "Ads" section, then the "Book Covers" section.
And soundtrack-wise? Just listen to Ingrid Michaelson's album, "Girls and Boys." Almost every song on there could go along with this story. (Along with Keane's "Somewhere Only We Know." I imagine that song playing when Natalie's on the hill by the church and Bennet finds her.)
So, if you haven't read my stuff yet, please do so and please review them. Thanks to all those who have already read and reviewed them, you're my heroes.
