News and Junk

5/12/08: So I just posted the first two chapters of Ghost Not Forgotten and should be posting the rest of it very steadily, since it's already finished and all. Hope you all enjoy it.

FYI: I got ANOTHER freakin' idea for a story, so now I have three vying for my attention right now. It's kinda stressful! :) Anywho, so keep your eyes peeled for those guys coming soon...

3/17/08: Well hell! I just found out I won Most Amazing Wordsmith, Most Creative Plot (SFFP), Most Memorable (SFFP) AND got a runner up for Best Awkward Moment (OW). Unbelievable! This is so cool! Thanks to everyone who voted for or nominated me, this is really so awesome and I didn't expect to do this well, so thank you, thank you, thank you!

10/25/07: Hey! Here's the link to my site with most of my story drawings: www.winkypproductions.com They're namely in the "Illustrations/Sketches" section. The book covers are in the "Ads" section under "book covers" (who knew?)

The image links that remain here on my profile are of the pictures that aren't on my website.

This is info about my works, just in case you're curious...

Off the Page:
I wrote it in about a week. It's a bit different for me because I wrote it in chronological order (whereas I usually write bits and pieces of a story and then connect them all later) and I tried to be less uptight about it. So I essentially wrote a chapter, read over it maybe twice and then posted it. So it's rough, definitely rough, but I'm just winging it I guess.

Someday I may expand it into a longer work, but at the moment I was trying to keep it relatively short, since I have a habit of making things a bit long-winded. We'll see, we'll see...

Much Better
This was essentially my fantasy back in high school, what I WISHED happened to me.

Oh, and somebody asked why he's "Lincoln Duncan" : I basically think Paul Simon is a lyrical genius so any chance I get to pay homage to him in my writing I take. In this story I named a character after one of his songs, Duncan, which has the line: "Lincoln Duncan is my name and here's my song, here's my song." So that's why. Plus, he's a weird dude, he should have a weird name.

Cast List: (Just for fun)
Jamie ~ Lincoln (Link)

Six Feet from Paradise: (a SKoW Winner! Huzzah!)

This was the first story I actually kept up with and finished. It was what gave me this crazy idea that I might be a writer and it essentially became my obsession for a good five years.

10/25/07: Wanna see the drawings? Go to www.winkypproductions.com and go to the "Illustrations/Sketches" section. The book cover is in the "ads" section.

SFFP fan art by the lovely faux-prada (or Bee): paradise ~ maui ~ hospital

Ordinary World: (A SKoW winner!)

I started this one during my freshman year of college while I was obsessed with The 10th Kingdom, so don't be surprised if you see a few similiarities.

11/09/07: Somebody asked how one pronounces "Aoife." My Gaelic name research says it's pronounced like "ee-feh" but for some annoying reason I immediately think and say "ay-fa," probably because I'm a stupid American who is thrown off by the idea that a name starting with "A" would be pronounced with an "ee" sound. I guess I like the sound of my pronunciation better too, it's prettier to me -"ay-fa" as opposed to "ee-feh"- but whatever. I still love how it's spelled, even if it confuses me, it's also a very pretty looking name LOL.

Pictures and drawings of characters:

10/25/07: Wanna see the drawings? Go to www.winkypproductions.com and go to the "Illustrations/Sketches" section.

Cast list: Along with the actors I have chosen I added sketches (to those who have them) to show how I envision the characters and how the actor matches my vision...ya know? It's just for fun, if you don't agree that's fine.
Elizabeth ~ Rafe ~ Phillipe ~ Hegra ~ Katerina ~ Aoife ~ Corrigan ~ Peter
Robin_Hood ~ The_Mad_Hatter ~ The_Lady_of_the_Mirror ~ Merlin

Suggested (partial) Soundtrack:
- "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran (Who saw that one coming?)
- "Book of Days" "Only If" and "Storms in Africa" by Enya from the album "Paint the Sky with Stars" ("Only If" goes with the chapter of the same name, obviously. "Storms in Africa" has a good "running through the woods" feel.)
- "The Drunken Piper" by Natalie MacMaster with Cookie Rankin from the "Women of the World: Celtic II" album. (This is the song Rafe dances to with the faeries.) Here's the video on YouTube. It's kinda lame, so it's best to just close your eyes and imagine dancing faeries with a big dancing Rafe instead of watching it.
- "Stay" by Emmy Rossum from her "Inside Out" EP (A good song to express how a girl feels about a certain boy.:)
- "I_Have_The_Touch" by Peter Gabriel from the "Phenomenon" soundtrack (One of Rafe's unspoken theme songs.) (The video's a total trip. Best to close your eyes on this one too.)

Mad World:

CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR RECONSTRUCTION:
It had to be done, folks. It had to be done. It was driving me nuts having it up when there were a million things about it I wanted to fix. I'm not sure when it will be back up, but I'll definitely put it up before I start posting the "afterthought" story mentioned up in my News section.

Chasing Mathesons series
A series of three to be exact.

10/25/07: Wanna see the book covers? Go to www.winkypproductions.com and go to the "Ads" section then click on the "Book Covers" link.

10/17/07: New Cast Lists added
This is what happens when you can't sleep one night and have a bout of pointless creativity.

Visions of You: Maggie ~ David ~ Deb ~ Colin ~ Janie ~ Danny ~ Patrick

Story of You and Speaking of You have been temporarily removed so that I can give them the facelifts they deserve! I'm not sure when they;ll be up again but I hope it will be very soon! Thanks for your patience!

Ghost Not Forgotten

I don't have any portraits or drawings of these two and probably never will. I don't know, some stories demand me to draw the characters and some just don't, like this one.

However, I did make a book cover I'm rather fond of. It's on my website, www.winkypproductions.com in the "Ads" section, then the "Book Covers" section.

And soundtrack-wise? Just listen to Ingrid Michaelson's album, "Girls and Boys." Almost every song on there could go along with this story.

So, if you haven't read my stuff yet, please do so and please review them. Thanks to all those who have already read and reviewed it, you're my heroes.
