This is my pretty bio. (um, what else am I suppose to say?)
Name: Skeeter the Groundhog (I got the name "Skeeter" from my dad before I was born and "Groundhog" came from basketball, because I was always on the ground, flailing for the ball. It was Llama ear's idea, I'm not to blame.)
Age: 16 (junior in high school)
Home: California, USA
Appearance: female, 5'4" with curly brown hair and annoying blonde highlights by my ears (I swear, they're natural! My hairdresser has laughed at me twice because she thought I tried to give myself highlights!) and deep blue eyes (oh, my eyes are my pride and joy- not to be narcissist or anything.)
Spelling Ability: Good enough so you get the point.
Hobbies/Interests: writing (no duh), running, softball, field hockey, dancing in the rain, smiling P;D, playing with my pooch, being crazy with my friends, giving people advice (although I can't take my own), acting, thinking (yes, I actually do think. You can stop laughing now amigos.)
Why We're Alive: to figure out why we're alive
Sign: Gemini
Religion: Christian (Lutheran) with a twist. I believe in "the big guy" who's created us and watched over us. I call him God. I believe that Jesus is his son and saved us from ourselves. And I really believe in angels, guardian angels.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START, READ THIS!
So, this is the part where I tell you how all my stories are going and what they are about. A lot of them have only one chapter, and unless someone continually bugs me to write another chapter, you might as well forget about the story.
One-Shots
Bug me if you ever want to see anything more from these, and too lazy/short to write a sneak preview.
Prince of Thieves: It's really sad at the beginning, when a teen loses his mom and must carry on and protect his little sister by working for his father, the King of Thieves. (I saw another story with the same title, and I just wanted to say I'm not taking the other author's idea and this was something I came up with on my own terms.) He battles on and becomes rather successful, but keeps his little sister in the dark about what he is doing. It's really quite an adorable story and I love the main character.
The Downside of Being Good: A lady of society deals with the drama of getting a husband. Unfortunately, she’s not on the “Most Sought After Lady” list. So she improvises.
More Than One-Shots
These need a little help and are on hiatus. Bug me if you want more.
My Life as the Nonsensical Chicken: I'm working on the next chapter, but I really don't have an urge to. Basically it's about a girl who makes people laugh for fun, but then gets carried away from an empty place called Nebraska and into the Big World where she gets a bad dose of culture shock.
Sneak Preview: “And seriously, don’t eat the book. You’ll get a really bad stomach ache, like my terrier, Toast. Okay, I’m done with this warning. Can I continue?”
Nightshade in the Moonlight: Okay, so this is a new one, but I'm just going with it, so see if you like it and bug me to update, because I have ADD with stories because I'll get excited with one, then another...it goes on. Anyway, it's about a girl who's a werewolf who manages to find trouble at everyone corner and who has a haunting past that caught up with her. And trust me, it's probably not what you think.
Sneak Preview: “I’m warning you bitch, find someone soon or I will make your life hell.” … “No. He was dead. It couldn’t be him. Oh, those eyes… I ran to the Oak Tree.”
From the Depths: It's about one bad chick named Delaine who doesn't live a normal life. Her mom drinks and is in a rock band and has Delaine tags along to her concerts where she gets in big trouble and finds herself in another realm where she apparently is suppose to make two feuding parties make peace. Meanwhile, there's that pesky thing called love and she finds out why she can be such a devil.
Sneak Preview: “That was how I lived until I fell into another realm- a pick-your-poison sort of world where flirting with danger was like facing a snake getting ready to strike. And all I could do was antagonize the snake more.”
The Hopefuls
These are on hiatus, but I do like them lots.
The Colonization of Two-Tiki Island: I would like to note that "Llama ears" is the coauthor of this book, and all the really hilarious parts are all her. So be sure to tell her thank you too. So anyway, this is about how some families get stuck on an island in a lake in a desert and it doesn't look like they're going to get rescued. It doesn't help that two tikis are ruling the island, with idiotic lemurs, punk alpacas, little yellow birds, Mexican crocodiles, a worrisome mouse, and rubber duckies filling the island. Things get interesting when there are 17 people. And yes, there's love, not to mention a few ha ha moments.
Sneak Preview: “Of all the tikis in training school, I had to get stuck with you. Molimo the clown of the Tikis. Idiot.” ... “There is no reception here…at all.” ... “But I have to maintain my umbrella collection! The little birdies keep stealing them!”
Duet: I really do like this one. It's about a teen, female pilot who plays by the book, but is still talented and a teen, male pilot whose goal in life is to rip the book in shreds. Roxie (our hero!!!) is not about to let that happen, but it's so hard to resist Brandon's (the other hero) charms and good looks. Love does develop eventually, but until then, he just pisses her off. In the end, there's a happy little moral. Please read!!! This is becoming my second baby!
Sneak Preview: “ ‘I really hope you rot in hell.’ I pushed him aside and walked to my room. God, he was so hot…”
The Siege of Rose Valley: I love Hobbs...he is probably one of my favorite characters. He reminds me of McGee from NCIS. Anyway, a teen is just trying to keep her country from falling, but everyone one is being so difficult. There's love and a dark past, and even (possibly) darker future. And all the danger has come to Rose Valley.
Sneak Preview: “ ‘Adeline, just look at her…she’s a-’ ‘We’ve already concluded she’s a girl, Gregory. Think of a different argument.’”
The Super-Hopefuls
These I’m actually trying to get published. Status is listed individually.
Pirate's Life for Me: I'm having fun with this. He he, polite arguments are fun. This may also be my second baby. A pirate captures a girl who may be important to the tribe. There's love, hate, battles, ships, politics, and the sea. What more could you want?
Sneak Preview: “ ‘I eloped with a pirate!’ I wailed and peered down at my hand. ‘And you didn’t even get me a ring!’ I added sorrowfully.”
Status: Hiatus-ish. (note from 7/18) I have almost finished chapter 11, which means there will be an update soon! Thank you Pirates of the Caribbean! You are my inspiration!
And There Will Be Balloons: Really a touching story of twin boys and one crazy girl. One twin is struggling to find himself and the other is blind, stutters, and is crippled. They immediately befriend the girl, who seems to have crazy plans of her own. Love does develop, but the story ends very sadly. But don’t worry, there are balloons.
Sneak Preview: “ ‘And everyone will wear colorful sundresses and skirts and the men will wear vibrant ties; not a speck of black. The sky will be blue and the flowers will be in full bloom. There will be a light breeze. Everyone will have cotton candy… and there will be balloons.’ ”
Status: Everyone par-tay! The title page and prologue are up! Stick around for updates (hopefully) soon!
The Grove: You thought your life was screwed up? Well, this girl has got it all- her parents are divorcing, she parties, drinks, does ecstasy, sleeps around, slits her wrists, almost got raped, and is anorexic. And I might even be missing a few things. Well, her parents send her off to a school for “troubled teens” where she tries to work things out. Then a boy comes and makes everything a wee bit harder.
Sneak Preview: “ ‘Damn it, speak already! You’re not helping yourself! You can’t just keep silent all the time! Get mad! Scream! Do something!’ ”
Status: Unstarted. Still brainstorming.
Me, My Brother, and My Brothers Ego- Tales of My Sophomore Year: She’s a bit of a nerd, her brother’s the football team star. Her parents aren’t around and when they are, they’re at her brother’s football games. She has a tendency to try and save people. She meets a few druggies and tries to save them from themselves, look after her brother, find love, and hold onto her friends. Complicated? Duh, it’s sophomore year.
Sneak Preview: “ ‘Who’s the one driving you home when your drunk? Me. Who’s the one tending you after you get in a fight? Me.’ … ‘I’m the only reason why you have friends at this school!’ … ‘I love you.’ … ‘You’re a druggie.’ ”
Status: Unstarted. Working up time to put in down on paper.
Love and Mortality: Inspired by the song Romeo and Juliet-esque "O! Valencia" by the Decemberists, in a city divided by a river, love comes from opposite ends. Unrequited love, one might say, a love so strong that it will end with a bang yet live on forever.
Sneak Preview: "Okay all high and mighty Zeus, I know you think you're a hot shot and everything, but your ego isn't doing to get a date out of me." "Babe, I'm no Zeus. Meet your Morpheus." "God of dreams? Clever, but unfortunately that's the only place you'll be seeing me then- in your dreams." "I was hoping that I would be in your dreams too, but hey, it's a start." ... "You can't see him." "Why not?" "He's Morpheus." ... "You're boyfriend is a Donnelly?!" ... "I'm so tired of people telling me I can't, because you know what? I can and I will." ... "I would die for you." ... "You don't have to do this, you know. You know I don't want you doing this." "It's my job, Conan. It pays. I don't like dancing for creepy men either, trust me."
Status: Just started. First two chapters posted as of 4/11/07. More to come hopefully soon. Chapter 3 posted 6/17/07!!! Sorry for the wait!
Got Guts?: (working title) Told in hilarious first person by Rodney McAfton, danger loving, passionate, and alive motorcycle chick about her adjustment from living in Las Vegas, Nevada to the Californian coast. Watch as she dominates the school, turning everything upside down, and gets the guy.
Sneak Preview: “I’m going to Prepville High!” … “Ew, my dad is flirting with the secretary!” … “Maybe Little Miss Prim and Proper wasn’t so prim and proper after all.” … “They were the Raw Five- the dangerously close knit group of hotties who could do anything.” … “I’m not to be ignored.” … “Oh O’Riley, you only live once!”
Status: It’s rolling along now that it is SUMMER!!! Chapter 2 posted 6/16/07.
Completed Works
Monologue-Waiting For Dave: Just a little monologue I wrote and dedicated to my friend. About an insane girl waiting for the man of her dreams to call. She’s not particularly patient.
An Ode to my Alarm Clock: Something I think about when I wake up early. Actually conceived the idea in bed. This is probably as far as I’ll go into poetry.
What Cheli Did: My 34 page lit project about what my lit teacher and his daughter Bella did over winter break. Lots of talking creatures, good morals, and a bit of drama. Basically, this is what I did my entire spring break. Fun. I went a tad crazy, but the doctor’s say I’m stable now. (cue demonic smile)
A Week in the Life of a Heartbreakee (aka Tuesday Morning):Something I came up with in the shower. It's meant to be a song, but it's under poetry. It's one of my first attempts at song writing, so be nice. You're a heartbreakee, the one who's heart has been broken. Yet you still want your heartbreaker. A mix of emotions in a week.
And All the Pretty Little Ponies: After suffering a case of insomnia, I resorted to writing poetry until I feel asleep. It’s not that good, but it sounded pretty at the time. It’s all little clumps, so DO NOT READ IT AS ONE WHOLE POEM.
Jane: Just me being frustrated at love. Being that girl that doesn’t really get looked at twice. The history and lit nerd in the back of the classroom who only get flirted with if some guy wants to get answers off of me.

Once again, I’m sorry if this puts your undies in a bunch, but I consider it a little spring cleaning.
