Hi. My name, such as it is, is Anya. I've been hanging around here for a while, mostly to drop reviews to people and stalk them in a creepy fashion, but I have finally been persuaded to start uploading some of the stories I write (which is probably why you're here, after all.)
About me... I've just left high school, and in relatively short order will be heading out on a gap year, which may put a dent in regular story updates, tragically. After that I'm heading off to study psychology things, and plan to keep up writing all through uni, so I shouldn't dry up for long.
Anyway. My current favourite authors are Mercedes Lackey, Robin Hobb, Terry Pratchett, Stephen Fry and Oscar Wilde. (Any resemblence of my characters to Vanyel Ashkevron is coincidental, I swear!) My favourite movie is Velvet Goldmine, which rocks, along with other delightful things such as My Own Private Idaho and Rent.
My current obsessions: Doctor Who, Torchwood, Oscar Wilde (can you tell?), House, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie (and any combinations thereof). I'm also very fond of Noel Coward. The best books I've read recently are The Lies of Locke Lamora (by Scott Lynch), Funny Boy (by Shyam Selvadurai), N for Narcissus (by Chris Hunt), and Melusine and The Virtu (by Sara Monette).
I'm a raving yaoi fangirl, and I'd be very startled to have a plot idea without slash of some description. If you don't like it, nobody's forcing you to read my work.
I leave you with two Oscar Wilde quotes, from the introduction of The Portrait of Dorian Gray. Not for any real reason, I just like them.
"There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written, or badly written. This is all."
"We can forgive a man for making a useful thing as long as he does not admire it. The only excuse for making a useless thing is that one admires it intensely. All art is quite useless."

Stories in progress and status thereof
By Divine Agency - Updated whenever I feel the urge, and here's to hoping that my writing of it doesn't stall horrifically. Also, please note my apologies for the awful pun in the title. Other suggestions are very welcome.
Midnight Stranger - On hiatus. Sorry! But with exams, and more inspiration on other stories, I had to give it a rest. I will finish it someday, I swear.
Chips of Emerald - Updated at irregular and random intervals. No update currently in progress.
Stories currently being contemplated or drafted (all titles and summaries are provisional)
Secrets - David and Philip were the perfect fucked up couple. But things don't always work out the way you want, and it's hard to make it alone through grief and psychoses when everyone's keeping secrets. SLASH, LEGEND OF EMERALDS AU. Awaiting response from my betas and severe editing, then will be posted. Soon, I hope!
Shadow sequel - No current summary. Looks to be a one-shot set about 5 years after the end of My Shadow and Me. Will obviously be worked on/posted after the competion of the first story.
Platonic Soulmate - Alex was looking for fun, a friend, and handsome guys to flirt with. Chloe was looking for someone to talk to, someone to laugh with, and pretty girls to kiss. What they found was each other. Well... two out of three ain't bad. M/M F/F SLASH. Alex from My Shadow and Me will be getting this story eventually, devoted entirely to his exploits. I have lots of other stories in the pipeline first, though!
Caspirin's Stone - Thyria is a country plagued with demons; every thousand years comes a Voice of the God, to choose his Black Knight and slay them all. But the Knight's been missing for four years, and the Voice may have to choose a new champion... SLASH. I adore this story, even though I have no idea how long / complex / slashy it will be. It's going to be a while coming, though.
Fitting Dreams - Claire just wants to be a normal, dutiful daughter, but finding her grandmother's journal may force her to acknowledge that she wants something different than Victorian England allows. F/F SLASH, ONE SHOT. This one's taking me a while to complete, but I'm maybe halfway through now? So it'll go up someday.
Dice Games - The Great War. Nathan isn't enjoying it much, particularly when he has to deal with Dice, the soldier who never loses at gambling, and no one will tell him how his predecessor died and why everyone hates Major Daltry... (Implied slash, maybe). This one's going good! Though I'm not sure how soon I'll finish it, because I suck that way.
Feel free to message me about any of my stories and praise me unduly. Or, y'know, ask questions about them.
