Here is my other account for q is for quirks. And here is my website. :)
My name is Yon Yonson. I come from Wisconsin. I work in de lumberyard der. And all de people I meet as I walk down the street say "Hello there! What's your name?" And I say, "My name is Yon Yonson, I come from Wisconsin..."
Hehe. Not really, that's just a rhyme my grandpa made up.
So here's who I actually am.
My name's Carissa, AKA Q, AKA Qzie (obviously). I'm 19 (even though I have the mentality of a twelve-year-old and the vocabulary of... a smarter person than me) and I live here. Here is defined as not there. To be more specific, I live south of the border! ...If you're talking about the Canadian border. I'm a freshman at college (I know, how scary), and white vans hit me, so I don't like them. I have a cat named Lilith who is my arch nemesis, and a dog named Daisy, who's my buddy. I also have a fish named Eydis. She's pretty. :)
Deviantart, Youtube, Freewebs!
So, if you're interested, I'm going to be putting up pictures of my characters up on deviantart... I have one up already of Keiran, Garrett, and Charlie when they were nine. Link here There's also a bunch of pictures of the other characters. :)
About Youtube: I doubt this will get finished anytime soon, but I had an idea to make a music video with pictures of characters and scenes from Fine Line to the song Touchdown Turnaround by hellogoodbye. But while I haven't gotten that one completely finished, there is a music video with the characters in it. And here's another one. :D
Freewebs page! I got really bored and decided to make a website.
Not in any particular order...
Favorite book series: Lord of the Rings (generally speaking), A Series of Unfortunate Events, Harry Potter, Maximum Ride, Chronicles of Narnia
Favorite books (top five): The Hobbit; The Penultimate Peril; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix; The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe; and Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment.
Favorite movies (top five again): Return of the King (even though they cut out the Scouring of the Shire, which would have been TOTALLY AWESOME!), Serenity, Transformers, Finding Nemo, The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything.
Favorite shows: Scrubs, The Office, Chuck, I Love Lucy, and the George Burns and Gracie Allen Show.
Favorite bands: Relient K, hellogoodbye, Stellar Kart, Eleventy Seven, and Family Force 5.
OK, onto something else...
People who rock: They're all very talented writers and very nice people in general.
Murphy's Lawyer Used to be Lack of Luck. You should read her one shots, because they are awesome, and you ESPECIALLY need to read "Not Quite" and "Life's Little Chances", because they rock hard.
FreakierThanThou Wrote an awesome piece about forgiveness called "Two People Who Hate Each Other A Lot" among others. Check it out.
CaveDwellers Is writing a really cool story called "The Blue Rose", which is awesome beyond belief, and always leaves these insanely sweet reviews. You should read it so you can join my Syrhith Fan Base on facebook. ;)
IdeasInTheAir Another cool one. A oneshot-writer, and a very nice girl. She needs a theme song for her famous clearing-up sections in Fine Line. :)
The below haven't updated in about forever. That doesn't mean they're any less awesome.
RT michaels One of my favorites. Writes really, really sad stuff. You need to read "This Boy Cries" and "Sunflower".
Hey Its Me Again Fantastic poet. He only has a few poems, but they're well worth reading.
Homey Hilarious guy, although he doesn't get to update very often. Read everything. Just everything.
About select stories:
--My baby, Fine Line--
So... it's about forgiveness... and friendship... and love, obviously. It starts out funny, but it gets kinda sad and dramatic as the story progresses. It starts when they're in seventh grade (September 2006) and it goes to the summer after their freshman year (June 2009). It starts off with this girl, Caomhe (KEE-va) hating Keiran (who makes it very clear that he likes her). They used to be friends until Keiran did something that really ticked Caomhe off, so they hated each other for a few years, and then Keiran tries to be friends with her, and then he falls for her.
It's also a story about their friends. We have the girls (Caomhe, Fiona, Celia (CHEL-ya), and Celia's cousin Leah) and then the boys (Keiran, Garrett, Charlie, and Joeri (YOO-ri, or Yeri if you're lazy on pronunciation)), and they're all friends (save Keiran and Caomhe). Joeri and Celia are already going out at the start of the story and they're pretty much meant to be. Then there's a couple love triangles, a case of car vs. sled, and a lot of swing set scenes. And also plots.
There's a ton of drama in ninth grade, and I mean a ton. We barely get into the first chapter of high school and BAM. Drama. There's another love triangle-type-thing, a felony (none of the main characters commit it, thank God), a huge word-fight, an even bigger physical fight, tension between two characters, a cheating ex-boyfriend, something extremely sad, and another big word-fight.
But there's a lot of funny stuff to make up for it. :)
I've been thinking about separating it into three different books because it's so ridiculously long... like, seventh grade and the summer after seventh grade would go together; eighth grade and the summer after eighth grade would go together; and the ninth grade and epilogue would go together. I shall ask my idea-beta, but if she approves, then it'd probably break down like this:
Fine Line: Of Forgiveness and Tag (Book One)
Fine Line: Of Life and Snack Items (Book Two)
Fine Line: Of Love and Elaborate Plots (Book Three)
All working titles, of course. :)
Fine Line: Essence of Maturity- It's a series of Fine Line oneshots about life, kids, marriage, food, college, and all that jazz. :)
Duct Tape Fixes Everything- the sequel to Fine Line
It's pretty much a story about adapting to change and learning from mistakes and taking chances. Of course, there's the humor and drama and romance that you've come to expect from these kids.
I had to take it down due to the fact that I'm making some major changes to Fine Line that Duct Tape just doesn't agree with. I don't know when it's going to be ready. I'm sorry! :(
--Other stories--
Cookies versus Donuts: This is my favorite play, hands down. It's about sibling rivalry. ;) My friend has a quote concerning it: "I am Omar, and I make the ladies go 'mmm'... bow-chicka-bow-wow!"
Donut Shop Confessions: Because donuts are worth killing for. :D
The Impossible Plan: It goes along with Chapter Fifty-Four of Fine Line. It's a scene with the guys trying to figure out how to keep Charlie from moving.
Laura: This is a collection of stories about my younger sister, Laura, who is autistic. My friend suggested making a movie of what it's like to live with her, but I thought it would work better as a story. :)
One of Those Days: A Fine Line sequel (Duct Tape Fixes Everything) oneshot about Benny having a really awful day.
The Dork and the Dragon: Woohoo, fantasy! It's about two norks (nerd/dork), an undersized dragon named Penelope, your stereotypical hero-type who's more like a sidekick, an accident-prone prince, and a big freakin' war over a sword. It's a story about believing in yourself and how anyone can change the world. That sounded cliched. There's supposed to be an accent over the "e" in "cliched." Oh well.
The Real Threats to Society: Recollections of middle school and high school. Such fun.
Christmas Angel: It's about a little girl sending a letter to her older brother.
Brighter Than Sunshine: Kind of a happy, feel-good piece. It was fun to write.
Lavender Streaked Sky: It's kind of a story about keeping your mind open to all possibilities. The MC, Renie, is based off Luna Lovegood, cuz Luna rocks. :D
Spy Wants A Donut: It's a true story about how my best friend wanted me to spy on this guy to see if there was any, ehem, curious behavior. And I got bored. And hungry.
My Happy-Go-Freaky Girl: It's a Fine Line poem. I was very tempted to put it in the song category, but alas, I didn't. It's about Fiona (duh) and something in chapter forty-eight. :)
Sometimes We Say Goodbye: So it's a song about two characters from Fine Line. Specifically, it's about a song about when someone leaves.
Hand in Hand: It's a spur of the moment piece about an old, dying man named Fergus having a conversation with Death. It's a more serious piece, which is ironic, because it's about learning to find the joy in life. :)
Sentiments of Hatred: Hehe. So this is actually a Fine Line oneshot that I made up spur of the moment. It's about Caomhe and Keiran when they were 8 years old and in 3rd grade. And they hated each other. It's barely two pages, but I had so much fun.
Most Eligible: It's about a boy who is pretty much just a face in a crowd and then gets instant popularity overnight because of his hair. Then he starts getting chased by girls, which is bad because he's afraid of them, at least the preppy ones, and he has to call in for reinforcements (Taser and her best friend Piper)... it's 25 pages long. Heh. The moral lesson is learning about standing up for yourself.
Tea With Cinnamon and Vanilla: It's a play I wrote last year for my drama and screenwriting class. It's my favorite play out of anything I wrote that year, and I just found it stashed away, so I had to put it up.
Dear Freind: Another oneshot. It's a series of letters from a five-year-old named Renie to her friend who's in the hospital.
The Dance: Aha. Wow. I... really don't know what happened. I just kinda opened Word and started writing and that's what happened. I've never written like that before... it's totally screwy.
Stuff that's still stashed away for now
Duct Tape Fixes Everything: The sequel to Fine Line.
Untitled as of yet: I don't even have a plot or characters, but I know exactly where it's going to take place: my secondary hometown because I know it inside and out. :) And I know it's going to be something really big. I just have yet to figure it out. And I'm debating whether it should take place during the 90's, early years of 2000, or in the future. I'm kind of leaning towards 2003 or 2004.
Bloody Iceberg: I lost the better half of my story when my computer crashed (RIP Whittaker). So now I have to do it all over again, which I'm going to hold off until I finish everything else.
Vendetta: Mary Sue Edition: Oh my gosh. I was reading these anti-Mary Sue stories over on Fanfiction.net and thought to write one for Fictionpress. Being neglected...
Aovire Series: It takes place in an unknown part of the world on an island called Aovire, and I had so many ideas surrounding Aovire that it has to be a series. There's tons of characters, but two recurring characters are a magician named Gamble and a fairy named Lanky (short for Zelenka). I'm not sure if I'll ever get to it, though...
