Lai Anderson is my character/alter-ego in my circle of friends' doujin project. Fictionpress is where I practice all my writing styles and create experimental stories. So, if in the future, just in case, we get to publish our own series, I'll remember those who reviewed my stories on FP and get "first fan" benefits! Kidding. Hehe.
Really... I'm not too keen on getting reviews, but I appreciate it very much. =) Currently active as a BetaReader too.
So here's a little introduction for all of my stories. Some stories may be in Filipino, but I write their intros here in English just for uniformity.
One-shots:
Coffee Shop (English - Manga) = Two old high school classmates meet at a coffee shop after many years. As memories unfold, old feelings are resurrected and one of them learns about a thing called change.
Oo, Sya Nga Yung Mukhang Tuta (Filipino - Young Adult) = Kat narrates about Neil, a guy she knew and hated for a long time. Note: In contemporary high school slang. This is actually inspired by a friend's true story: names were changed, of course; and the events were altered but they have a real basis.
Brownout (Filipino - Romance) = An unexpected power failure brings two college buddies together. They thought they knew a lot about each other, but with a cigarette and two bottles of beer, they were just about to find out. Note: This is my favorite among all of the Filipino stories I've done. If you understand the language, I encourage you to read at least this one.
Stalker (Filipino - General) = He knows her full name.He knows about her friends and family. He remembers her childhood, adolescence and early adulthood. He could probably draw her face with his eyes closed. He knows what she likes and what she doesn't. He waits for her and follows her everyday. Stalker? Nah. Note: This is sort of an experiment since it's the first time I used a male POV in Filipino. I've done a first person narration by a male in IAL (see below) but it's different when done in Filipino. It's challenging, I must say.
Stories In-Progress:
Custard Cake (English - Manga) = Shin Kumiko is a young pastry shop owner who one day, gets lucky and meets the man of her dreams Raymond Li. What happens when she meets an arrogant man who threatens her almost perfect career and lovelife... and then she hires him as a slave! Note: This is a shoujo story with the usual humor, romance, and a bit of drama. It also features a couple of informative scenes related to baking/pastry-making although I can't bake myself. However, CC is the lightest of all my fiction so this receives the most attention hence the frequent updates.
10 Days (English -Manga) = He was incredibly rich. She needed him for his money. But that was before Day One. Note: This is still shoujo but it adapts a more serious tone; with subtle humor and light violence. This one's my favorite.
I am Lex (English - Manga) = What happens when a high school nerd meets a rockstar who looks exactly like him? Note: This was a possible shounen-ai, and still is, by the way. I just haven't mustered the courage to continue this so it might be a long time before another update. The sole purpose for my writing this was to remove my fear of yaoi and shounen-ai stories. Hehe. It worked a little bit, I suppose.
Brother (English-Manga) =A young man comes back from a two-year stay in Europe and sees his little sister all grown up. Both of their lives turn around as a perfect young lady takes the scene when a huge event comes up. Note: This project is back and running.
A Rose and A Thorn (English-Manga) = Matsushima Saori gets bullied all the time but surprisingly, she doesn't mind at all. Then she meets the worst bullies in town, led by a handsome yet cruel Miyazawa Ichiro who, she discovers, has a secret that could destroy his reputation. Note: This is the most updated story at the moment.
