'ello all, I'm a fellow who's been made a hermit by circumstance, partly eccentric too, with an artistic inclination. Writing fiction is an art, who here would deny it? I've no particular emphasis in my writings for the time being; I'm a poet of haikus and I write fables as well as general fiction. That may all change soon.
As for myself, I was born in Australia, although I now reside in California, somehow found my way here over the years. Had to go through many countries first, but I'll spare you the details. (just use your imagination!) I enjoy the quiet life and prefer taking serene hikes in the forest rather than enduring the ugly blare of urban environments. I like to eat a pineapple-and-cottage cheese sandwich every so often.
Over the years, I've become much interested in dreams and the nature of human sleep. I've reached the point where I'm capable of recalling multiple dreams with each waking morning. I find my dreams to be fascinating and may very well turn one into a story someday. Take note, if there's one method I can suggest for drawing inspiration, that is to follow your dreams, then you won't have to sit around all day thinking of what to write. You say you can't remember dreams? One of the most effective ways is to show enthusiasm. The more you want dreams, the more likely you are to recall. If you try hard enough, you may be able to catch yourself dreaming and know that you are asleep, perhaps even control the dream from within. I know from experience.
I'll do you a favor and let you decide what kind of person I am by reading my stories, that way I won't go into such depth on something you might not care about. Sounds like a fair deal. Righto, off to tales then!
The embers dimmed, the shadows gaped wide their maws. The trees whispered amongst themselves. 'twas now the very witching hour, the wee hours of the fairy folk!

The Gallery
What the heck, I decided I may as well post my visual art too, despite the fact this isn't a site for visual artists.
Dream Martel - The alter ego of a certain French alligator woman ;)
Winter Window - An abstract harking all the way back to my 8th grade days.
Fire, Holy Flame - Another abstract from my 8th grade art class.
80s Monsters - After looking at the covers of several CDs for 80s pop music, I was inspired to draw these strange creatures.
The Fishionary - A missionary fish who appears in episode #36, Fishy Business, of Courage the Cowardly Dog, the popular cartoon produced by Stretch Films.
The Fishionary - A close-up sketch.
Madame - The alligator, as she usually appears, Madame Martha Martel.
Magnifique Martel - Another alter ego. She's flying through outer space, blasting giant robots. I gave her a red superman cape to make her all the more magnificent and I purposely enlarged Australia's prominence. Entirely crayon.
Bumblelion Scores Big - These are a couple Wuzzles, cuddly creatures from Disney's first animated television series, The Wuzzles (1985). There's Butterbear (part bear, part butterfly) and Bumblelion (part bumble bee, part lion). Don't mind Butterbear, that's nothing like how she really looks, Bumblelion's the main man here.
The Butterbear Page - The large sketch is what Butterbear really looks like, drawn directly from a screenshot. The other two are my own versions of her.
Once Upon a Time... - Wario, Mario of Nintendo's "evil" twin, shined down on the land, giving life and joy to all its inhabitants, and they lived happily ever after. The end.
Lots more to be added soon!

News Box
9/17/07 - The coolest thing happened this morning. I was taking a shower and a rainbow appeared in the water as it fell from the shower head. Talk about inspiration!
10/18/07 - Added the gallery today, for all you archivists.

The Behemoths' War and its Consequence
I wrote this having no intimate knowledge of any creation myth. Part of my goal was to see how it matches up with other such myths. I was exposed to an ancient Greek creation myth way back in 6th grade and even now remnants of that myth may have found their way into my story, though I undoubtedly forgot virtually everything. The keen reader will also notice biblical allusions. The reason I added that to an utterly false myth is simple: it's hard to separate the Bible from my thinking.
Penelope
I realized some of you may have been wondering what I was thinking when I wrote one particular line in this piece of poetic prose. It goes "Her bosom seemed tender as two fawns." Well, believe it or not, I stole it from a bible verse, two in fact (Song of Solomon 4:5 and Song of Solomon 7:3) There's more of my biblical allusions at work.

One more thing, please read and review Two in One, I'm more anxious to see reviews for that than any of my other writings.
