You Have Now Arrived at the Page of Olivine: Writer, (Beta-)Reader, and C2 Manager of Island of the Romanced.
Regarding Island of the Romanced...
Island of the Romanced was created simply to see how well I could do with it. It's advertising. Pulling through with what you say matters, and so does keeping up and keeping the C2 active. Am I right? Well, after I saw how well it was doing (third most subscribed-to), I decided to keep it going healthy and strong. See how well I can do. Plus I like the stories in there. I don't even use my Favorite Stories thing anymore.
Anywho, if you'd like to be a staff member of the Island, go ahead and PM me. Note that you'll have to be active in your role. When you see a story that you think deserves a place here, you add it. (See below for rules.) Or else, if you find a story that you believe is the best story in the world and you feel the need to see it in the C2 so other people can share your joy and excitement, PM me and I'll look at it. (The rules below also apply for this.)
Rules:
-Stories must be rated under M. This rule is bendable, but only if the rating is there because of language. Sexual content should be very, very, very minimal.
-Stories must have good quality. This means minimal typos, great sentence structure, the story should flow, the characters should have depth, etc.
-Stories, as the main genre, must be categorized as Romance. This rule isn't something I made up, it's a Fictionpress thing that really gets on my nerves because there have been a number of supernatural and fantasy stories that have romance, which I very much would have liked to add to the C2. But, alas... well. You know.
I don't suppose the rules look very strict, but I'm very crazy about them. I worship these rules. Not really, but you get the idea, right? A story that's readable by all ages is important, and the quality equally so. I also look at popularity, meaning the number of reviews it has. My theory is, the more reviews for a smaller amount of chapters, the better it is. Which is mostly true. I mean, if you looked at a story that has 45 chapters and only 57 reviews, that's not very good at all. But I've put up stories before that do have a lovely number of reviews, but the story itself was terrible. At least the authors had a nice and loyal fanbase. I took down those stories, of course.
Anyways, I'm as careful as I can possibly be with the Island. I look at it as a challenge for myself and, more importantly, something to do.
If you have any questions at all, feel absolutely free to PM me. I know I seem inactive and maybe that scares you guys, thinking of all the things that could have happened to me, such as being eaten by homework, but I check my email very often. Promise.

Regarding Beta-Reading...
This is something new I'm trying. And I need things to do. I've found that I can be good at critiquing people when the time comes and I give that review, so I figured why not? I'd like to be a part of something, anyways. I mean a writing process. So, yeah, take a look at my Beta Profile and see what you think.
Currently, I BetaRead for Lucidrant, but come Summer (around late June), I'll be available for more people.
Regarding my own work...
You'll see mostly poems up here. If I were to tell you which ones I like best, I'd say Dead Roses in Steel Cups, The Caged Bird's Tale, Stargirl, Mutilated Story, and Beautiful. I have some short stories up, three actually, and they're not very good, I'm aware. People seem to like This Mascara Isn't Waterproof, though. And Gemma's not half-bad. I have revising of it to do, though. No idea when I'll get to it. And as for longer stories, the ones with chapters. Heh. Well. Story ideas make their way into my head, and then leave. Or else they'll stay for a while, I won't be able to plan out a good plotline, and then they'll leave. So I'm working on that...
Note 5/16/08: I've started writing short stories whenever I'm either in the mood or inspired. I've posted two of them, Running Away, and Maybe It's Tomorrow, the former inspired by the move The Illusionist, and the latter inspired by the song Josephine by The Wallflowers.
"Yeah, this where it fell. It is, or if you want to be really specific up there (pointing to the sky) is where this weird bloody necklace (shows him the necklace around her neck) came out of nowhere and knocked it out of the heavens without minding it's own bussiness. And over there is where it landed. And right here, here is where it got hit by a magical flying MORON!"
