I love to write, plain and simple. My other 'First Loves' include Art, Architecture, and History. I suppose I am one of those romantics who like to defy reality and instead wish to lose themselves in a past that exists only in a single dream that does not do it justice. For one to dream, one must value reality much less, and we all have a dream. But the question we must ask ourselves is not what we decry about our reality, but why would wedream it away? Is the past really much simpler? Or are we spiralling toward a future we would rather not face? For we have wrought the present, and will shape the future. Why then, do we flee to ink and paper? Why, then, do we write about a past, a present, a future that is not ours?
