This is a general F.A.Q about me. If you need to find something quickly then just press Ctrl+F and type it in. (It works better if you use one key word.) If there's something that i forgot to put on here, feel free to ask me.
F.A.Q about S.H.A.Y.E.
First of all, what’s up with your PenName?
Hm...I don't really know. I'm sure that I've written it down in my diary somewhere...
So, how old are you now and what grade are you in?
Right now, I am sixteen. I’ll be seventeen on November thirtieth, and I’m in the twelfth grade.
You’re a little young to be in twelfth grade. Do people treat you differently because of it?
Not really. Only sometimes, it gets frustrating because I’m about a year behind everyone, so I’ll be going through one phase while others are ending it.
Have you always been interested in writing? When did you start?
I could write my letters from Pre-school. But, I started really writing in about third grade. I would bring poems or short stories to my teacher and she’d post them on the bulletin board by her desk. (teacher’s pet much?) Then in fourth and fifth grade I didn’t have much time for writing. In sixth grade, m English teacher got me to start reading. (Down a Dark Hall by Lois Duncan) Then at the end of sixth grade I moved again and I began my first full-length story. I’ve been writing ever since.
Have you taken any writing classes?
Ha, I wish. Nope, all I have is experience, criticism, and some very bad academic English classes. (And a good one every now and then. ;) )
Are you considering pursuing a career in writing?
Not really. First of all, when I get older, there are many things that I want that I won’t be able to get by having a writers salary. Besides, I don't want the fact that 'It's my job' to affect my writing. I’m looking more along the lines of teacher, or psychologist.
Do your friends support your writing?
Welll...Most of my friends don’t know about my writing. I’ve probably showed my short stories to at least one or two of my friends, but only one of them knows that I’m actually serious about writing.
Do you have any likes and dislikes?
Like foods and stuff? Well, my favorite food is Chinese Takeout. I practically live off of it. My least favorite food would have to be…green beans or canned corn.
My favorite snack is Buttered Tortilla, but Ice Cream will suffice if we’re out of that.
My favorite beverage is the Strawberry and Crème Frappicino from Starbucks, but if I’m at home, I’ll settle for V8 Splash. And if it’s an alcoholic beverage, it would either be an Apple Martini or maybe Mojito. I hate plain cranberry juice and grape wine. (bleh)
My favorite book would either have to be Brave New World by Aldous Huxley or Maximum Ride by James Patterson. But I'm also most likely to read Stranger With My Face by Lois Duncan or New Moon by Stephanie Meyer. OH!! How could I forget? The Harry Potter series. Never gets old.
I have so many books that I don’t like that it would take forever to list them all.
My favorite movie? Labyrinth! Labyrinth! Labyrinth! (David Bowie= AMAzing in those breeches!) Oh yeah. And I guess the goblins are adorable or something...My least favorite movie would be The Grudge. I didn’t really see a point to it. I don’t know. Maybe it’ll make sense when I’m older.
My favorite song pretty much depends on whatever mood I’m in at the moment, but the one song that can fit almost every mood is Caged Bird by Shunichi Miyamoto
I have too many least favorite songs to list here.
Do you have...a favorite show?
I LOVE Grey's Anatomy! (No surprise there.) And Blood Ties. (Erhem, actually, I only like Kyle Schmid. Then again, the plot's pretty good too...) Oh yes, and Life With Derek. (The only believeable New-Disney show in my opinion.)
Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get it mostly from my family and my past experiences. (I love writing about things that I have never experienced though) Whatever I don’t get from there, I get from my friends. I rarely use other stories as inspiration, because I’m one of those people who feel like it’s cheating, but I suppose I must subconsciously get something from reading other stories too without knowing it. Sometimes, I’ll make up a joke, only to find out that it was in a book I read; (which by the way, really sucks.)
The majority of your stories (fictionpress) are oneshots or poems. Do you prefer those to full length stories?
Umm…Not really. I’m not a poet. I mean, I’m really, really not a poet. It’s just not my forte. Not at all. I’ve only written about one poem that I’m not completely disappointed with and that’s In the Light of the Moon. Not saying much hehe. I don’t like writing oneshots either, because I always end up missing something. Then I have to go back and edit it over and over again. (It's a rather irritating process) I’ve actually started many full-length stories, but I just haven’t gotten around to uploading them…or finishing them. Ehh...
Many of your stories are about people finding love. Have you had any past experiences like that?
Ha. Sadly, no. I am way too young to be falling in love. There are more important things to be worried about when you’re in high school. Like passing tenth grade English :cries: I'm alright when it comes to creative writing (at home), but essays. Man, those are a killer. Evil things, those essays.
A few of your other stories are also about people suffering from unrequited love. Did anything like that ever happen to you?
Well...I hope to experience it someday (why?), so that I can write about it better. All I have to go off of right now are my friends experiences and movies. Yeah, It's not much, I know. I just honestly think it's stupid though. If you love someone, but they don’t love you back, you should just move on. Life’s too short to be worrying about something so trivial as "love". But, you have to admit. It does bring that always needed “something” into any romance. Woot!
Your view on love is quite different from others you age. Care to explain it?
Erm...no. We'd be here all day.
Despite the fact that you don’t believe in love, have you had any crushes or thought about dating?
:eye twitch:
:does believe in love:
Hmm. Actually, I’ve had plenty of crushes. None of them have really lasted for more than two weeks though. Nothing ever really happened (except on rare occasions) and I'm easily bored with monotony. I try to have long crushes, (I really do) but I just end up disliking them very much after a while. And that's never a good thing.
I guess at one point or another I must have thought about dating. It just hasn’t really ever been an issue. I’ve got enough problems. I don’t need a boy hanging over my shoulder and kissing and groping me every two seconds. (Not that I would mind. grin. )
How does that affect your love life and your past relationships?
Um...What love life? haha sweatdrop
This one is for the stalkers. What other websites are you registered for?
I’m on a lot, actually. Um…For fictionpress and fanfiction dot net my pennames are always the same (Risa Shayde for now). For gaiaonline, I’m Im_A_Nightgown. AIM I'm riceballalien45. Um, my myspace is my homepage. And the rest aren’t really that important.
