Author has written 4 stories for Fantasy, and Sci-Fi.

Welcome to my profile :) It thrills me that people come here and read what what I've written. I think I've come a long way from when I would go to great lengths to hide the fact that I wrote any kind of fiction because I was frankly terrified of somebody reading them and telling me they sucked.

Anyways, I am female, if anyone was wondering, and I am just out of college with a degree in geology. Many of my friends don't share my fascination with rocks and tease me about it at every opportunity. I've never seriously considered writing as a career partly because I've never thought I was good enough at writing, but also for other equally valid reasons. It's my hobby and what I do for fun. If it became what I had to do to make a living I don't think I would want to do it, and I would no longer have a hobby to fill the spaces in between work. Also my writing has always and ever been for myself. I started seriously writing in 8th grade because I wanted to read a good story but had already cleaned out the school and public libraries (I am a voracious reader, which is another reason I adore fictionpress). When I started writing 'For Those Who Dare to Rise' in highschool (my first literary baby) I had no intention of ever letting anyone else read it. I was writing it because I wanted to read it, and I really didn't care if anyone else did.

Since then I've had more ideas spring into life than I know what to do with. When I started it, 'For Those Who Dare to Rise' consumed my every waking thought and several of my dreams at night. Now I have too many story concepts floating around in my head and on hastily jotted scraps of paper to give any one of them the attention they deserve. Unfortunately this means that only one of my stories will get written on any kind of a schedule at any one time. Currently this one is 'And Wind Makes Fire Dance.' For whatever reason, when the muse of this story poked me in the imagination all the others fled before it. It is the story I have stayed with so intensely for the longest, and by far the one of my ideas with the most written on it. And that, my dear readers is all due to you :) The amazing feedback on this story has kept the enthusiasm for writing it going. Every review keeps me thinking about my characters and that makes me want to write more about them. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Alright, I know you aren't here to read my rambling about myself so I'll stop there. However, if you do want to listen to me ramble more, feel free to PM me or use whatever electronic method suits your fancy for getting in touch with me. I'm always up for a chat with a fellow reader/writer. Only one more thing, I can't resist a shameless plug:

Another thing I do when I have free time and spare inspiration is draw. Mostly I draw characters from my stories, but I'll doodle just about anything out of my imagination. Since I now have access to a scanner I've been able to put a few of my drawings on DeviantArt. Feel free to check them out at http://sugarloafin.deviantart.com Currently I've uploaded drawings of several characters, not all introduced yet, from "And Wind Makes Fire Dance" and a drawing of a group of characters from "Project 16" as well as a bunch of unrelated things.

Recently I've also started jotting down fanfiction ideas that have been swirling in my head for over a year. Feel free to explore that end of my creativity as well at http://www.fanfiction.net/~sugarloafin. So far I only have one thing up, and no real plans for more in the immediate future, but go ahead and take a look if you like.

Ok, plug over with. So read and review if you wish, constructive criticism is always appreciated. If you review I will try to always reply and return the favor by reviewing something of yours. Knowing how much a review means to me, I try to give them out as much as possible. (Spread the love!) I do want to send a big thank you again to everyone who has reviewed something of mine, you've all been such wonderful motivators. Thank you all!

Story Status (I'll try to keep this updated, but no promises)

In the Rhythm of the Newborn - Whoa. I updated it. Chapter 6 is up! Don't get your expectations up though, writing this one is going to go sloooow.

For Those Who Dare to Rise - Also on hold, the muse for this has fled in the wake of others.

And Wind Makes Fire Dance -22nd is up! I have been so darned busy lately I haven't even started the next yet...I'll get it out eventually though, this story plagues my thoughts too much to be abandoned :)

Project 16 - Second chapter is up. Third will be along eventually, Wind Makes Fire Dance is taking up all my writing time right now.
