Author has written 61 stories for Life, General, Religion, Nature, Politics, Young Adult, Haiku, War, Friendship, Love, Humor, and Fantasy. Hey y'all! March 4rth of '06 and I'm back in business!!! I know you may be thinkin', "Where in the hell has he been all this time? He didn't put up a Feb. profile and only wrote like three poems. He lied to us! Let's form an angry mob with pitchforks and torches and everything, track him down, and burn his house to the ground. That'll teach him not to mess with us!" Well, truth is I've been really busy lately. Now I know it's not much of an excuse, but (5 AP's + Fr. 4 in school, eagle project for Boy Scouts, Varsity Tennis, etc.) kinda does that to ya. Also, this is the fouth day in a row when I tried to post this profile, but had some technical difficulties. I've also not visited FictionPress (or any other writing site for that matter) in a long while. I never wrote a Feb. profile and while I felt very prolific in Dec., I only posted a few poems last month. And although I did swing by a few times in Feb., I didn't read or review very much, so sorry to all who felt insert emotion here because I didn't read or review their work when I should have. Now that I have a little more free time I can hopefully catch up! Nevertheless, lets get right down to it: I am currently writing two plays, five short stories, two haiku series, and a bunch more unrelated poems. The first play is entitled, Hearken to Thine Empire!, and is a tragicly comedic epic (?). The second is as of yet untitled, but will be much shorter and posed as a modern reflection rather than an epic (it's actually an ode to Robert Frost, one of my personal favorites and . The short stories are still in the plotting stages, and progress is rather slow. One of the haiku series will be titled Fresh From the Factory, and will offer a different approach from some of my previous series. The other is again as of yet untitled, and similar to the aforementioned series. Both haiku series look very promising. Now, onto my new section called "Features", which will also be updated monthly: Hey, hey, hey!! WOW has it been a long time since I've been here...more than a year in fact... March 7, '07 Alrighty, so...FP has changed a bit, but looks like the gang is still all here! Anyway, enough rambling: let's get down to business! (BTW, things in italics are old, everything else is new). Features: Last Year (Feb.): Check out (if you haven’t already) the two haiku series, Of You, My Love, and Product of Society. If you had to read any of my Feb. works, these two are definitely worth reading. Not only were they my first haiku series, but, but...well, yes, yes, they were my first haiku series:). The first series was very "stream-of-consciousness-esk" with a romantic tone. It was something of a result of a dreamlike state generating what felt like very real and very plausible visions. Eh, it managed to get positive reviews, which inspired me to write more haiku series, so thank you all who responded. The second series was much less emotional, as it was inferably political and left a few gaps so the reader could use his/her imagination to make sense of it. It, like the first, received much positive feedback, so again thanks to all who contributed. That's all folks, I can't just tell you everything about them or you won't want to read them, now would you! Check 'em out; you won't be disappointed, I promise:) This Year, This Month (March): This month look for three distinguished works in particular. They include my currently untitled play, my haiku series, Fresh From the Forest Factory, and my longer poem, Department Store Junkie. The play, being an ode to Robert Frost and all, will take after one of his later Masques (but I won't tell which one--you'll just have to wait for it). The haiku series will be different from the others from last month. It will most likely appeal to a broader range of people, and although most will seem irrelevant to each other, the series will end with a bang so as to tie everything together! Finally, the longer poem will be an attempt to capture the lifestyle--no, the very essence--of a department store worker going through rough times. To clear up some expected confusion, it should be noted that it will reflect the life of a fictional character who is an actual worker, it is neither someone who is real or modeled after anyone who is real, nor is it about someone who enjoys shopping at department stores and would be considered a junkie because they spend much time there. That's all! ...not quite: my Fresh From the Forest Factory haiku series is out and about, check out all haikus for the low, low price of (ABSOLUTELY) free!! The play is still in progress and probably won't be out for awile. Sorry to disappoint. As for the DSJ poem, it is nearly complete. Just finishing the last couple stanzas, so look for it within the month (hopefully). Next Month (April): Hopefully my (solely in my opinion) masterpiece thusfar will be available in april: the epic play, Hearken to Thine Empire!. So far it is quite long and will probably be twice as long once finished seeing as how I am almost one half done with it. Again, to remedy some predicted confusion, it will be an epic, meaning it will feature an in-depth plot witha broad character list, narrative qualities such as primaries and secondaries, character entanglement, and much adventurous hardships! However, it will also provide much emotion--a little tragedy and comedic relief ought to do nicely! Aside from this play, there is a slight possibility will finish my second short story, Squinter, which will be a sci-fi, future-esk narrative. Enjoy! Here's the update: the play is a long ways off, but Squinter is close to being complete, so look for it coming to a FP webpage near you next month. Again, sorry to disappoint about the play :( ...they are kinda long and complicated to write. By the way, I'll try to update this profile every month. I'll include news about my old works, as well as the ones I'm working on. I'll also do some kind of review of the previous month's update. Cheesy, eh? Well, I'm still gonna do it. Every time I update, I'll delete the profile from two months previous, too. That way you guys can get a chance to read my review and make some sense of it. Finally, a shoutout to Moondog Dozier, who, besides reviewing most of my writes (I'll bet he's reviewed one of your works, too), is one of the most prolific (and in my opinion) best writers here on FP.
