My favourite author is J.K. Rowling, and of all her characters, Harry Potter and Remus Lupin are my favourites (though of course I love Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger). Children, I think would enjoy "Witch's Sister", by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. Teenagersmight enjoy her "Alice" books (which were initially meant to appeal to girls, but many boys have found the series really interesting and entertaining, so I think any boy could give them a shot). It begins with "The Agony of Alice", which is more for children, so if you'd like to start with one of the newer books, when the main characters are young adults, I recommend it. Reading the books in any order is fine. There are also "Alice" prequals, which I think are wonderful once you've gotten to know Alice and feel interested in her childhood.

One author I would highly recommend is Neil Gaiman, whose "Coraline" is gruesomely enthralling -- the intented plotline begins like an ethereal dream, then ripens gradually to a digusting nightmare.

I would like you to know that I read profiles, and if I have read your work, then I have certainly read your profile.
