Author has written 11 stories for Life, War, Love, General, Song, Friendship, and Play. Hey, I'm Derick. That's not my real name, but only those who know me well can know my real name. I have been writing since the age of 9, and I'm always suprised that some of my best pieces of writing were written at such a young age. I am quite fond of poetry and song writing, but I will write short stories on occasion. On these occasions, I am a sucker for folk tales and stories written in the third person, without knowing the person's name. I like a passive voice in short stories, but strong (and occasionally gritty-- see the poem entitled Candy)poetry. My work generally is ionfluenced by the emotions I am feeling at any given time. And therefore, writing serves as a way for me to heighten these emotions, so that they can dissipate. I don't write to let go, I dance to let go. I have been dancing (ballet, modern, tap, and jazz) since the age of 8. It is one of my biggest passions (asides from writing and acting). I love how all emotions escape, and I can just focus on the music, each step, the emotion in the movement, the synchronity between myself and the other dancers. It is as beautiful to do, as it is to watch. I aspire to become one of the following someday: An actor (on Broadway or in films) the Secretary General of the UN or another international job Or become either a playwright or a lyricist. I hope you enjoy my work, as they are my life in creative form. (If you ever see a typo, tell me. I can't type well- therefore I don't notice my errors from being so used to them. Merci beaucoup.) | |||||
