Author has written 20 stories for Fantasy, General, Fantasy, Horror, Humor, and Mystery. After about six months of complete inactivity, I'm back. (Melodramatic pause as EnemyWithin lets that sink in. Continues when he hears the sound of no one caring). Anyway... Newest stories are The Obsidian Window, a very dark and violent story, and Hellion, which is more like fantasy, similar to Dreamland Saga. Speaking of which, Dreamland Saga is not dead, it is just on hold until I figure out exactly what is going to happen. It got very big very quickly, and to be honest I'm not entirely sure I'm equal to the task of writing three novels. I'd like to start with a standalone novel first, and see if I can get that published. I will eventually get back to DS though. The standalone novel I have planned is called Obsidian. It takes place in a world of perpetual night, called Obsidian. The prologue starts in Obsidian, where the strange masked man named Harbinger prepares to make a journey to Earth on behalf of his adoptive father Lord Talerane. The first chapter introduces the protagonist Kelton Raulder, who is a clairvoyant tortured by his visions and the disbelief of everyone he goes to for help. Harbinger brings him to Obsidian, to meet Lord Talerane. But Obsidian is nothing like Kelton thought it would be, and he may soon have to take up the mantle of leadership, whether he is ready or not. Once the story picks up pace, I add more to the summary, but I can't really say more without spoiling the next few chapters. I have the prologue up now, the first chapter should follow soon. For those who are wondering who in the hell I am, I am just a random college student/slacker at Thomas Nelson Community College in Williamsburg, Virginia. I'm the skinny, geeky guy with the glasses who usually trips over something during the duration of the class. Although some of my fiction and poetry is rather dark and creepy, I'm actually not a dark, angry, or scary person, I'm generally kind of quiet and shy, only daring to contribute to class conversations when I've had liberal amounts of caffeine and can't stop myself. I'm also a lot more talkative online; if you talk to me in person, chances are I'll stutter, look at the ground, and/or spill something on myself. Dreamland Saga is my continuing work, a story set in a world only accessible to mortals of Earth through dreams. Once, the old gods ruled there, but the second Lightning War saw the end of Jove's rule. Now, a being known as Dark Chaos holds the world in his grasp, but to most of the people he is as much a myth as the old gods and the Lightning Wars. However, his primary agent Astaroth is a cold reality, as he is the mysterious and often brutal man that leads the Cult of Prevailing Darkness and combs the realm for heretics. But a rebel group known as the Paladins, disciples of the dead Apollo, have managed to release Artemis from her exile. Changes are occuring all over the world, as a band of mortal misfits journey to Astaroth's castle to rescue a friend, a reluctant acolyte of Dark Chaos fights his inner demons, a trio of prodigies discover a book of strange words and stranger possibilities deep within the vaults of the Academy Triad, and Artemis herself tries to unravel the secrets of Dark Chaos. I'm not very good at summaries, so just give it a shot and tell me what you think. The first book will be called The Dance of Dawn and Twilight. The second book will be called Prevailing Darkness and Rising Chaos. The third book is sort of up in the air, but I think it will be called The Last Lightning War. I read a lot, and am rarely seen in public without a book somewhere on my person. To be honest, I feel kind of awkward and vulnerable without a book nearby, like walking out of the house without pants (not that I would know, heh). Currently obsessed with George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series, and eagerly awaiting the next installment. | |||||||||||
