(drools over all the original fiction)

I love this website!

Anyway, I've hit some major writer's block in the last year or so, which is why I haven't posted any real stories yet. I've got plenty of ideas on the backburner, though (as well as a painful amount of notes). I'm about to start my third year of college while majoring in Creative Writing, so I'm hoping for a little inspiration from my teachers. Until I get the ballpoint pen rolling, I've been working on some fanfiction (check out SaphirePhoenix at fanfiction.net). My hardrive is just about overflowing with story ideas, so as soon as I get rid of my Harry Potter training wheels, expect some amazing stuff.

Favorite Authors: J.K. Rowling, Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher, Laurell K. Hamilton, Lynn Flewelling, Sarah Monette, Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory, Tamora Pierce, Garth Nix, Anne Rice, Barb and J.C. Hendee, D.J. MacHale... (Where's the end of the list? I think I see it faaaaaaar over the horizon...)

Favorite Fiction: I love to read fantasy and science-fiction, but I'm not so big on ordinary romances and dramas. My interests alternate between medieval worlds of magic (wizards, elves, royal intrigue, etc.) and modern supernatural (vampires, werewolves, demons, etc.).

Current Projects:

"First Hunt" (tentative title)
This is only a one-shot at the moment, something I wrote in a limited amount of time for my creative writing class last year. At the moment, it seems to be developing into one of those modern supernatural stories, with the quirky main characters kicking vampiric ass on a nightly basis. It's off to a much better start than it sounds, but I have yet to work out the more elaborate plot twists (i.e.: It's never as simple as good vs evil...). It's a dramatic, but still humorous, story, with an amateur's reflection of the authors mention above-- and a few fight scenes, as well. I might post the rough draft to give you guys a taste.

"The Serial Strangler"
Suffice to say, my creative writing class was weird. It's a crappy story, but kind of funny. Check it out if you have five minutes of your life to waste.

I can't really be bothered to add every other story I'm working on at the moment, as most of them are still in the earliest stages of development. I do have plans to upload a few of my other creative writing assignments, if only to laugh at the reviews.
