The sound of frantic panting pierced the forest’s dead silence. Footsteps running in a clumsy, careless fashion echoed in the forest’s dampening quiet, closely followed by the speedy, noiseless beating of paws. Traces of scarlet blood could be found on many of the trees, produced by an unwilling victim trying to escape her death. | |||||||||||
