Author has written 46 stories for Fantasy, General, Kids, Essay, General, Biography, Romance, Fable, Friendship, Supernatural, Life, Action, Nature, Humor, and Love. Some spectacularly spontaneous subjects: I suck at parking I want to be a crazy cat lady when I'm old I LOVE COUGAR FOOTBALL!! We may suck now, but hey, it's always darkest before dawn. Things will get better. And we faithful cougs will stand by our team NO MATTER WHAT!! I love anything to do with psychology. I finally certified as a psych major!! :D I have weird fingernails, and my second toe is longer than my big toe (which means I was born into royalty!). Also, I snort when I laugh, and I sneeze 8 or 9 times on average per sneeze attack, which I call sneizures. My record is 17. I'm trying to think of an analogy for how I read and write...I devour books like a black hole devours light (hehe, I like space too!) and I write like a farmer--that is to say, I just plow through the writing. I don't edit till wayyyyy later (which means pretty much everything on here is NOT edited and probably never will be. Everything's raw). And speaking of raw...I like my steak still mooing. Rare as rare can be. Call me crazy (I am) but I like the way it seems to melt in my mouth. I'd eat it raw, if people let me :). One of my personal philosophies: You're only young once. This is when we get to be obnoxious and make the elderly people shake their heads and smile wryly, remembering their own days of being young trouble-making hooligans. Sing, dance, pop the champagne cork, and laugh along the way. ~Meghan~ Heart Lilies: A story about a young woman trying to find her way in a world that despises the very thing that makes her who she is. Haunted by a terrible and painful past, she struggles to find love and trust once again. Completed, and edited on a once-through. Dark Angel: A story about Isabeaux Bridges, a girl unwillingly controlled all her life by her stepmother. When an ophan boy rescues her, she is suddenly thrust into an ancient war only she can prevent. Then, when the ultimate disaster strikes, she is forced to choose between those she loves and saving the whole world. Incomplete. I may continue this one. I'll try to, but I'm writing something new that I WON'T be posting here. Eternal Night: This is one I haven't posted, and if you're interested in reading it, you'll have to talk to me. I don't want this one stolen, because I'll probably be sending it in for publication. It's about a princess caught up in a war begun thousands of years ago. Against her father's wishes, she dresses as a boy to join the army and winds up in a special corps of men who are sent into the most dangerous battleground; the Black Forest. It's complete, and I am writing a sequel. If you're interested, let me know. I need beta readers and a name for it. Thanks! The Elementals: Still Waters Run Deep: Cordelia Andreson has been abused throughout her life, it rains when she cries, and her best friend is obsessed with accounting, a terrible subject. Suddenly she is immersed (pun intended) in waters too deep even for her when Ari, a weird boy with broncos, tells her she is a water elemental (but not like the fishy kind). She fights her way to freedom with friends and newfound power. Complete. Feeding the Fire: Sunny Tempest lost her parents at a very young age, and after living with an adoptive family for several years, she lost her second father and her brother is in a coma. Upset, she wanders in the woods, where a young girl tells her she is a fire elemental. Suddenly more fires are popping up everywhere, and Sunny has to find a way to stop it and save her brother before it's too late. Complete. "Women know everything that is important. What is important is subject to change." "You mustn't watch TV until your eyes bleed; you must read until your mind can take in no more." "Did I mention that I know almost everything about almost everything?" -Dr. Rodney McKay "Without inertial dampening, we'd be hit by so many g's, our eyes would pop, our skin would pull away from our faces, our brains would squish up to the back our skulls, and our internal organs would be crushed into these chairs. What about that sandwich?" -Major John Sheppard "Hey, we should make a movie about us!" -Stephanie "Yeah! And it could be like the Sisterhood of the Traveling pants, except we wouldn't be sisters...and we don't have pants!" -Rachel "You might not, Rache, but I do!" -Me, gasping for breath This was the most amusing part of English today (the 8th). We all laughed so hard that Steph was crying and Rachel and I had tears in our eyes. "Me gustaria un sandwich de jabon y queso." (I'd like a soap and cheese sandwich) -Me, in Costa Rica. Jabon means soap, and jamon means ham. I got them mixed up in a subway on accident. The lady was laughing at me and it took me forever to figure out what I said wrong. She got the message though, so I didn't get soap on my sandwich. "There was never a plan in history that went exactly according to, well, plan." -Luke, from The Rose Thorn. Boys have feelings too...but who cares? Now let's just put our big girl panties on and deal with it! I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it!" "Whatever you do, don't shave your legs!" "Why?" "Because that way you won't let it go to far." -From Return to Me. -"Let me make this as... monosyllabic as possible. I... don't much care for this crew you hired. They're...how did I describe them, Arrow? I said something rather good this morning before coffee." "There's a time and place for everything. That time and place is college." -Dr. Smith "Many people hear voices when no one is there. Some of them are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day. Others are called writers and they do pretty much do the same thing." -Meg Chittenden Quotes from books I've read: “Once you learn to die, you learn to live.” -Tuesdays With Morrie “Love wins. Love always wins.” -Tuesdays With Morrie “Even if you walk the same road a hundred times, you’ll find something different each time.” -The Samurai's Garden "She raised an eyebrow. 'Many men do not see it that way,' was her comment. Diric snorted. 'And that is both a shame and a disgrace; what, must they prove themselves men by giving no responsibility whatsoever to the women in their lives? Can their pride not bear it, that their woman would dictate even the disposition of a pot or a rug?'" -Elvenblood "The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of the mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one." -The Catcher in the Rye "The safest place to hide a leaf is in a forest." -Endymion Spring "It was a good thing that he and his men weren't depending on that old saw of finding north by looking for moss on a tree trunk, because moss grew everywhere." -Elvenborn "My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep. The more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite." -The Rose Bride "Sometimes doing the right thing isn't the right thing to do." -Belladonna “Love makes heroes of ordinary fellows, princes of commoners, faêran out of mortalkind.” –The Battle of Evernight “I did not know it would be like this,” complained Viviana. “I hate slugs.” “They like you,” said Caitri, subtracting one from Viviana’s sleeve. “Anyway, you said you wanted to come,” she added primly. “I said I wanted to come but I never said I would not grumble.” –The Lady of the Sorrows "We want to remember, and we want to be remembered. That's why we paint." 13 Little Blue Envelopes "Men. Don't they realize that if we wanted to rule the world we could?" -Every Which Way but Dead "Half empty, half full. What the hell does it matter? Just drink whatever's in the cup." -Angels Fall "Why do I feel like you guys are talking about Eskimos and I'm trying to explain how to make fudge?" -Sex and the Single Vampire "As a man with cut hair, he did not identify the rhythm of three strands, the whispers of coming and going, of twisting and tying and blending, of catching and letting go, of braiding." -A Yellow Raft in Blue Water "Until you feel regret for what is forever out of reach, you do not truly mourn." -Before Midnight "There are two things in this world you must not give up on...and those two things are love and yourself." -Before Midnight "Stupid men might gain power, but they never hold it.' -The Phoenix Unchained "Mags coughed, surprised. Assistance in dressing? What kind of booby couldn't dress himself?" -Foundation The people who succeed in anything are the ones who refuse to be denied." -Greg Ames from Writer's Digest Notices: There have been some changes made to The Rainbow. First of all, the name. It is currently going by the title of Still Waters Run Deep, and the main character's name has changed. Alright, so I have added quite a bit of change to Heart Lillies, but I can't update the story here without deleting it and starting over. If you're interesting in reading the modified version, let me know and I'll send you the parts I've changed, but I'm warning you, it's a bit choppy. I added it in the middle of the night, so the quality won't be that great. The main reason I added a chapter in the middle of an already perfectly-good one was because I wanted more content and i wanted to feed the romance a bit, but I couldn't find a suitable place to do it, so I had to break up a chapter. It's not that bad, but it needs work. Anyway, let me know! ~Meghan | |||||||
