In which the Author believes it is time to update the profile…
I logged on one day and noticed that my profile had not been updated in exactly two years, forty-five days and sixteen seconds. The seconds was a mere estimation, I believe that it was actually more, but I decided to go with a slightly smaller number so I wouldn’t scare off potential readers.
In comparison with other writers on this site, my life can seem rather drab and boring. I didn’t graduate from an Ivy-league school with a degree in Literature (I’m not even in college) and I am not married with kids, nor have I won any composition contests. I don’t live in a fancy city in a fancy state or country and I am not and only child, much to my dismay.
In reality, I am only a high school student, female but tomboyish in nature and with a lack of fashion sense. I live in lovely, smoggy San Antonio in sweaty, slarkish Texas where, contrary to popular belief, we do not ride horses to school. I am one kid in a family of five, but recently, my long-lived-away brother, his amazing-puts-up-with-nothing wife and their (not-so) adorable kids, moved in bumping our already large family from five to nine.
My father works in irrigation, while my mother stays at home typing on the computer with the hope that one day a story of hers will be published. This dream went down the drain when my dad accidentally deleted twenty years of her works. I have two younger sisters, one in Elementary and one in high school with me. My older brother is seven years older than me as well as his wife. They have a son and daughter.
My house is not very big. I now am forced to share a room with my sister while my brother and his wife get the pleasures of my room and the Queen-sized bed.
I am seventeen, a senior and will turn eighteen in May. I have plans to go to college (University of Texas at San Antonio) and major in Music with a minor in Mandarin Chinese. I play the cello and am currently first chair in the top orchestra at my school as well as my church. I have tried for region orchestra and have made it all seven years.
I have several best friends. One who the goddess of all and dating my other best friend, whom I’ve known since fourth grade and is a total rocket scientist. The other is rather bi-polar at times and the last one is tall, blonde and like hugging a brick wall.
I am tall. Sporting a five-foot-eight body frame, we found that I excelled in Backstroke. To bad the school swimming coach disagreed. I play golf. Badly. My little sister is fourteen and six foot. My brother is six-five. My dad is six-two and my mom is five-eleven. I’m considered the shorty in my family.
I love video games. If I am not writing, you can take a guess as to that I am doing. I love The Legend of Zelda and, dare I say it, Pokemon. So sue me. I’m currently fighting and mauling my way through Final Fantasy XII. I just got my first PS2, so that is going rather slowly.
I also am a huge anime fan, specifically fantasy and sic-fi genre, and I own my fair share of manga books. Like my brother. I was introduced to this at the tender age of five when I watched the Guyver with my older bro and his friends. I'm surprised that it didn't sacr me for life.
Obviously, I like to write. Otherwise I wouldn’t dedicate my free time to bring you stories that I probably would never get published. You better appreciate me. Mainly, I like fantasy and I have several story ideas. If I could only start them. As of now, that is all they are, ideas. Currently, I am writing a cliché romance story. I hope that it goes well.
