Author has written 9 stories for Young Adult, and Manga. I'm RisanF. I've recently got back into original writing again, and I'd like to share some of my newest work. I started off primarily as a fanfic writer, and I've taken a lot of what I've learned there into my original writing. My stories tend to have a slight anime bent to them, combined with a healthy dose of The Wonder Years and maybe a bit of Harry Potter for good measure. I've interested in inverting old story tropes so that they're fresh again. The Different and Cool series and its prequel, Psych Masters, is more or less the product of this; it's my attempt at a Young Adult fantasy world and at making a pigtailed, glasses-wearing geek character that doesn't compromise her personality at the end of the story. My latest series, Rematch!, is grounded in modern day Chicago, but is actually influenced by television and music from the 80s and 90s.
