Hey, I'm CL Gingerich

Why I Write: The world of literature is a vast and exciting one for me. I love to write stories. I mostly write poetry because it is quicker and easier, but I do attempt to complete my fictional stories, even if it will take the rest of my life. My poetry, in my opinion, is kind of shabby, but it is mine. Over time, my poetry has taken on a new direction. I've finally found a fulfilling purpose for my writing: to honor the One who laid His innocent and perfect life down to save me from the mire. A lot of my poems are my letters of praise and of sorrow to my Savior. The most influential authors who have inspired me to write are JRR Tolkien, Ted Dekker, Francine Rivers, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and Diana Wynne Jones. Historical and fantasy fiction often catches my attention.

About Me: I'm beginning my third and final (here's hoping!) year of college, majoring in graphic design. Besides going to class, doing loads of homework, spending money on art supplies, and working at a coffee shop, I don't lead a very exciting life. But maybe that's why I read so much. I can live vicariously through the characters. I also watch way too much television... not actually television, more like Hulu and Netflix to be accurate. I am a born again Christian living in a small town, doing my best to live for Christ. If every day is focused on Him, then every day is meaningful.
