Author has written 13 stories for General, Love, Life, and Romance.

Name: Kal

Age: 17

Male or Female: Sex is female, gender is...debatable

Likes: writing, books, good music, stargazing, living, people-watching, coffee, hot girls (warm weather=short skirts-yes!), being an ass, sarcasm, pacman, asteroids (the game), SOLITAIRE!!, drawing (sometimes), shredding papers (I have a thing for destruction), skiing, dyeing my hair, vinyl pants and other '80s clothes, more random shit

Dislikes: yellow, purple, ignorance, homophobes, a greater majority of people, school, my sister's cat (she's an evil bitch), acting my age, being yelled at, narcissists (ironic, since I basically am one), my natural hair colour, making mistakes, being wet, sleeping, having to yell to be heard in restaurants, dissecting good books in school (because that takes the fun out of them)

When reading my stories, you will encounter death, random cursing (that's how I talk), Canadian word-spellings (don't ask how I picked them up), homosexuality, cross-dressing, snapping turtles, giant plot holes, total randomness/fluff, angst, flat characters, a failure to consistently capitalize "Hell" and "God," sporks, some really crappy editing jobs, and, perhaps, a couple peacocks. Oh, and I can't forget to mention some made-up words, because I'm not a bloody thesaurus, and I can't always think of the word I want to use.

Basically what I'm trying to say is: I'm a gay teenager who curses a lot, doesn't always (or even usually) proofread, and has a rather morbid sense of humour; deal with it or read something else.

Don't be alarmed by anything you read; I am not suicidal, and I am not this close to kicking the bucket. If it sometimes seems that way, well, I am a bit of a doom-and-gloom pessimist. Oops.

Did I promise updates or did I promise updates? The prologue and the first chapter of The Way Back are posted!! And I'm roughly a half of the way through it (I just deleted a shitload of it, so I have more to do than I thought), so I've got enough to continue posting weekly, even if I can't write for a week or two. I plan to update How to Dance next, but we'll see how that goes. And it looks like my weekly updates will fall on Tuesdays, because for some reason, those are always my most productive days... (I have no idea.) Yay!!

27 June 2009

Okay, this is just embarrassingly long at this point. Apologies, apologies, a thousand bazillion apologies. Not that that helps any, but what can I do? I won't detail the circumstances; suffice it to say that an identity crisis doesn't help writing very much. If you've come to my profile, you're probably wondering what the fuck I'm doing. So:

1. I've deleted The Misfortune of Living. Cliché, but I got halfway through and ran out of gas.

2. I'm going to finish How to Dance. In good time. (I'm trying, I swear!)

3. I'm going to start uploading a project that I'm almost finished with. (Working title is The Way Back, but we'll see how long that lasts.)

4. I've uploaded a new short story in honour of Pride, which is happening this weekend. (This is called Pride...if you couldn't tell.) It was written because Alice and I had an awesome, awesome day. And evening. And night... (The story is fiction, though, unfortunately. Mostly.)

5. One update a week. Every week, as long as I have How to Dance and The Way Back to work on. Not one update per story per week, maybe not even alternating updates, but I'm going to work on them both. The only exception may be the beginning of August, because I have a long-ass family reunion to attend. (Like, two weeks long-yikes!)

And I think that's all I have to say for now, but seriously, it's going to happen this time. I promise it.

And happy Pride, to you celebrants!
