Author has written 21 stories for Fantasy, General, General, Humor, Friendship, War, Life, Romance, Sci-Fi, Historical, and Horror. So, I was bored and decided to actually change my account. You know, the one that's had the same profile for years? I think a little update won't hurt now, will it? Let's see... Well, I finally finished Violet Eyes! It's taken about five years to write and has essentially become the core of my existence! And now I can actually say that I HAVE FINISHED THE SECOND DRAFT!! It's SO MUCH BETTER this time around, and I am honestly still in denial that it's over! Now that I've finished the second draft, I told myself that I could submit it to an editor/be published!! At long last, the dream I've held of publishing it will finally happen! Hopefully. I'm trying not to build up my hopes too much, because authors, especially newbies like me, tend to get a lot of rejection letters, but I'm keeping my head high. I truly believe this will happen. Hey, I've wished for it to come true on every shooting star I've seen and the last five sets of birthday candles! Something good has to come of all that well-wishing, eh? It's just weird now that it's over, since I feel like there's this huge gap that I'm missing... I always felt guilty when I didn't write it, but now I don't have to worry about that... Well, I'll have to eventually start on the sequel that has also lived in my mind for a while now. I don't have a title for it yet, but it will be a challenge for sure, considering there will be a great increase in the characters and their individual stories as well as numerous time skips and different perspectives. I haven't quite worked out the details yet, and somehow I want all the characters to be connected and it still has to maintain some kind of flow. Don't worry; I will figure it out eventually. I've finally removed all the ideas from my head and have put them on my computer (and flash drive to be safe) so I won't forget anything now. It will happen!! I am destined to be an author. Story ideas are always coming to mind now, even when I'm performing mundane tasks like brushing my teeth. I have a little booklet and my laptop here (and again the flash drive...I would die if something happened to them) to keep track of all that my mind thinks of, and when I actually become an author, I think the genres I write in will be so varied readers will wonder as to my sanity, haha!! I do have a lot of interests and a lot of different genres inspire me. What remains a constant thread throughout all my stories will be an emphasis on human emotions and reactions, especially when playing off pain, grief, guilt and love. I write stories with humor interspersed with angst, and I feel that even in the most fantastic worlds (those I have created, particularly for the fantasy category) the characters are all inherently human and that is what makes their stories so realistic and, in my opinion, better. It also allows people to identify with the characters, and that is one of my favorite aspects of reading books. I absolutely love connecting with a character so much that I am moved to tears or other fierce emotions, and I hope to emulate this in my own work. When I'm not writing Violet Eyes: Rewrite or its sequel, I'm usually working on another short story or fantacizing another idea. I do have a few poems on here, but I'm not really a poet. I just write poems when I am struck with inspiration and am too lazy to work out a full story on it. Thus, the shorter and much more concise poems evolve. Although, I must say, sometimes I just write things and don't know what they mean, haha! I think that's it for this part of the profile. The condensed (and shallow) version is below. I hope you enjoy my stories and poems, and know that I will never stop writing, EVER! I don't think my mind would even let me...lol. Name: Kelly, and I'm a girl! Although I can't say I've met any guys named Kelly...just a bunch of last names, really. Country: U.S.A. Age: 19 and I'm a sophomore in college! WOOT! Birthday: August 29 Movies: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Princess Bride, all the Monty Python films, anything made by Hayao Miyazaki (Castle in the Sky is my favorite!), The Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, Star Wars, Harry Potter (especially Order of the Phoenix: the best one yet!), Liar Liar, almost anything Disney/Dreamworks; namely Mulan, Madagascar, all three Shreks, Ice Age, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, Aladdin, Lion King, Pocahontas, The Emperor's New Groove, the Prince of Egypt, the Road to El Dorado, Meet the Robinsons, Oliver. Television Shows: The Office, Doctor Who, Firefly, Heroes, Lost, Dead Like Me, That 70's Show, Friends, The Simpsons, Malcolm in the Middle and the collection of shows America's Next Top Model, Chef, Designer etc. Anime/Manga: I am mostly canon and my favorite Animes have perfect combinations of cuteness and angst...ahh, I do love them so... Also, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching the Abridged Series for Yugioh, Naruto, Inuyasha, Avatar, Dragonball, Sailor Moon, Berserk, Fruits Basket, Lupin III and Yu Yu Hakusho; absolutely hilarious! I guarantee you'll love them! My favorites (mostly in order from most favorite to least favorite): Rurouni Kenshin, Avatar: The Last Airbender, D. Gray-Man, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fruits Basket, Saiyuki, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, Until Death Do Us Part, Weiss Kreuz (a.k.a. Knight Hunters), Vampire Knight, Fate Stay Night, Blood Plus, Naruto and Naruto Shippuuden, Bleach, Black Cat, X TV and Inuyasha. Briefly ventured into: Romeo X Juliet, Kyou Kara Maou, D.N. Angel, Death Note (mostly the live action films) and Ouran High School Host Club. Music: I like all kinds. Seriously, on my MP3 it could go from System of a Down to Beethoven to Disney to Japanese pop! I'm into rock and pop, and I absolutely love ethnic music from other countries, particularly Japanese music. I am also obsessed with soundtracks, even from the Anime shows I watch! The only things I don't enjoy are country, rap and hip-hop. Books: Dragonlance, Eragon, Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Twilight and the AMAZING Pendragon series!! I highly recommend all these books! Video Games: I don't actually play them, but I watch my friend all the time. I somehow enjoy watching rather than playing, except when it comes to the Sims, Lego Star Wars, DDR, or Karaoke Revolution! I'm a big fan of the Final Fantasy games, particularly VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2 and XII. They are so awesome and they have such amazing graphics! The characters lok so real and the plots are so intricate and original! I also like Super Smash Brothers Melee, James Bond: Agent Under Fire, the Chronicles of Narnia, Simpsons Hit and Run and others that I can't think of right now... Languages: I am a language nerd to be sure! My (other) dream is to learn a million languages and be able to talk with everyone in the world! Obviously, that won't really happen, but it's nice to have a goal! As of right now, I speak four languages: English (uh...duh), French (Practically fluent! I seriously think that I was French in a past life), Spanish (only a few years in high school, but not as good as French) and Japanese (which I am currently taking in college due to a desire prompted by my love of anime and manga). That's me in a very small nutshell! I also have two accounts on FanFiction, one with the same name Raven Wolfmoon, and the other I share with my friend, KellySquared. Both accounts mostly have parodies on them, since I write a lot of serious works and need a break once in a while! Go check them out if you're interested! Thanks for stopping by! | |||||||||
