Met's Blurbs.
I think it's funny that whenever I track down or see bad reviews for a story that I like (or in the case of the story that motivated me to write this little rant, love) the people that wrote the negative reviews are usually either anonymous, or have nothing on fictionpress. How can anyone take you seriously when you say that 'they suck at writing' when you've never written anything yourself? I honestly can't. I haven't been putting my stuff online long enough to actually get any bad reviews yet, but this is what I see when I decide to go read the reviews for someone else's story. I also find it strange that a story with over 500 positive reviews all of the sudden starts getting attacked with negative. It's as if some people are out to intentionally break down confidence once it's built up, luckily most writers aren't stupid enough to fall for it. But yeah... just some things I've noticed...
Recommendations.
The Cole Turns to Ash- Judging by the amount of reviews, chances are if you like Slash, you've already read this one. And if you didn't like it, I think you need to be checked for mental illnesses because this thing is BEYOND pwnsome. Yes. Pwnsome. The characters are some of the most well developed I've ever seen, the storyline is just crazy and always keeps you wanting to read more. It's the kind of story you'll never want to put down until you've read every last bit at least twice. I've read it a few times myself and still keep going back and reading it over.
Technicoloured Something- I think the only word for this story is 'adorable.' In it's own way this is the absolute most touching story I've ever read, which is kind of strange because I'm not so sure that was it's goal, but who cares? It's funny in a lot of parts too, the characters are very well done. One of my favorite Slash stories on fictionpress.
Sid Vicious- As of now it's incomplete but if you haven't started reading this one by HollyJolly4u, I garuntee you'll have no trouble reading through it in one sitting, as it's almost impossible to put down. I swear, some of these characters deserve awards for the way they entertain the reader. Great story, great plot, just great all together.
Angel- (By L.F. Blake) It's a short story, but first of all, if you're looking to get turned on by what you read, you want to read this. But that's not all it is, the writer's a pure genius, you get so much out of so little with the way she uses the words, and you get to know the characters even though you don't spend very much time with them. It's written in second person, which I personally find very tough to pull off, but this writer does it flawlessly.
The Theft of Caron Michaels- Currently only up to five chapters, but a damn good start. I'll say it again, a damn good start. The way it's going it could very easily end up being my ultimate favorite on FP, I'm loving the characters, the situation, the whole idea is just amazing. This writer makes pulling off a full bank robbery scene look easy, and trust me, it's not.
My Main Focus
A Fugitive and Me- Love is a powerful thing, it can make you do things you'd never thought you'd ever even think about doing. It can make you take lives, it can make you give your life. As for me, I think love is what wrecked me, what made me so sour and depressed. If it hadn't been for love, I wouldn't be here.
In short it's a story about a boy who's idol, lover, and hero is a witty criminal of sorts, theif, con artist, or murderer to some, and let's not forget history teacher. After leaving behind his friends, and a very jealous boyfriend all for one man, and the threats that come with him, that man is all he has. When you only have one thing it's not very hard to lose it all, and when Fox Murphy does, all that's left of him is hate.
