Story Summaries:

UEF:V911

Takes place in the distant future, in a time of sick inhumane experiments that use humans as the test subjects. Seven years after the UEF (Underground Experimentation Facility) has fallen. Most stories have a mysterious character that attracts the reader. This story is from his point of view. While he gives no sign of it, he is barely surviving this new life outside of the Facility, even after seven years. The main problem is he has a lot of difficulty sustaining his body's needs-food, water, etc. However, you'd never be able to tell.As an assassin, he is paid to kill. But when he visits the house of the one who just hired him for his latest assignment, he makes an unexpected acquaintence. She is different from other humans, he can sense. Because of the complications his recent assignment poses, he and her, and a few of her friends, end up working together in order to "take care of" the target. As he spends time with her, he becomes more and more aware of what UEF took from him before he ever had it: friends, family, home, a place to belong. And after the mission fails (the first time at least) he slowly becomes more and more aware that somehow, she is offering these things to him. Will he accept it? Or has he been scarred too many times, inside and out? And what is so familiar about those piercing blue eyes of hers and the way she looks at him?

Zone:

Koroon Horoshae, Koro for short, is your average everyday fifteen year-old ninth grader. Who's just a little bit odd. Pretty weird. Completely insane, actually. She has weird interests, like ancient books, calligraphy when she feels like it, Indian-style art, dragons, drawing and writing about her made-up world of made-up people and made-up creatures. So anyways, besides being completely insane, along with her friends, she's really as normal as you and...well, I'm not normal. But you get it. So Koroon's an average everyday kid. Who lives 87 years in the future. (Year may change.) And has an older eighteen-year old brother who's a siborg. And who has weird visions she calls "zones". And who is living in the year right after UEF was taken down (see above summary for details on UEF). And...well, basically, she's about to make some very strange friends. Friends that are quite strange indeed...

Also, RandoMania, thank you for your review! Yes, I am aware of the annoyingly long parts in which Koro is talking to the reader too much. But hey, I'm only !# years old!
