Comments: I love to do all my creative writing in English, my secondary language, rather than in Spanish. I'm always looking forward to improve my writing skills for both languages, though more in English since it's how I mostly do my writing. If you read my story, you're welcomed to review it with any constructive criticism. I'll be happy to read and apply anything that'll help my writing improve. Thanks!
About Broken Imagination & Love (ON HOLD):
Schizophrenia is a condition that had always interested me since I first learned about it. Someone I knew had experienced it, and from him, it was when I had started to learn. But, he’s the nicest sweetest person you’d meet. When I searched more about this condition on the web, it cleared up my many doubts and wrong ideas. I’ve even read experiences that made me cry. Here are some clarifications about what most people have wrong about:
Myth: Schizophrenia is a split personality.
Fact: People with schizophrenia have only ONE personality. The word 'schizophrenia' comes from the Greek word meaning 'split' and this is perhaps where the confusion started. However, schizophrenia is a split from reality rather than a split in personality.
Myth: People who have schizophrenia are violent.
Fact: People who have schizophrenia are no more likely to be violent than any other group in the community. There is, however, an increased risk of self-harm among people with schizophrenia. Often, because of the nature of the illness, violence is self-directed either through fear, delusional thinking or the decision to 'no longer cope' with the illness. It is fair to say that a person with schizophrenia has more to fear from the general community than the reverse, as they are often on the receiving end of quite severe stigmatisation, misunderstanding and outright discrimination.
Myth: People with schizophrenia are developmentally delayed.
Fact: People with schizophrenia are NOT developmentally delayed. This myth has its basis in the treatment programs in the 1960s. During this period, people with a developmental delay and people with a mental illness were placed in asylums together and this is probably where the confusion arose.
Myth: People with schizophrenia have a lower than average intelligence.
Fact: People with schizophrenia do NOT have a lower than average intelligence level. As with any population, there is a variation, but this is not a characteristic of the illness.

People tend to freak out at the knowledge that someone near them has schizophrenia, but there is no need to. They fear us more than what you fear them, as said above. People paint them very awful, but that’s just lack of information.
So, I decided to begin Broken Imagination & Love, aside of entertaining, to inform, clear-up and orient the reader. You may seem confused while reading it, but don’t hesitate to ask any questions. Or you can look up information on the web.
Don’t freak out about the story at first, I encourage to keep reading. It is a lot more than just ‘a crazy person’. I wouldn’t call it like that, but probably many of you will. I’m sensible at the use of this word to refer it to schizophrenic people. I call crazy to people who kill, abuse, and/or harm others intentionally for pleasure, power, etc. And that’s the least denomination they deserve.
