www.authorsjourney.com is a resource website for authors at any stage in their writing career. The site has articles on craft, writing resources, and a free searchable listing of short story markets that is accurate and current.

This fictionpress account is used for reviewing only, and is available to all Author's Journey staff. We are firm believers in tellin' it like it is. No flames, no sugar-coating, just honest critiques. Our sole hope when we review is to help writers improve their writing. We think that with some helpful advice and a lot of hard work, people of any skill level can write high-quality fiction.

If you are interested in requesting a critique, email us your name, the story name and any info we'll need to find the story. Please DO NOT email us your whole story if you only want a review. Be aware that we may not be able to critique everyone who makes a request, and we do clear out the inbox if it gets too crowded. If you are not critiqued within a month of making a request, you may assume that we couldn't get to you - feel free to make a new request.

If you wish to submit a story for publication on Author's Journey, email the entire story to us as an attachment in .rtf or .txt format. The subject line should say "fiction submission". Please use proper manuscript formatting and aclear font, 12pt. Your name, contact information and the number of words should be at the top of the first page. If you like, you may provide a cover letter in the body of your email. We also request that you tell us what genre you consider your story.

We accept all genres of fiction, but no poetry at this time and no erotica, ever. We are looking for high-quality fiction that has been well-edited. Do not expect personalized rejection letters. If you want comments, ask us for a review (as described above).

Unfortunately, we are not a paying market. However, ifany of our volunteer staff members win the lottery, this may change. We offer only the credit of being published, and the satisfying knowledge that you're better than most. We ask for rights to exclusively publish the story online for one month. Afterward, the rights return to you.

Good luck, and keep writing!
