I am Catherine Jefferson, and I believe in words.

1. The Fallen Caryatid » reviews
President Mark T. Adams loves his country. The Red National Army, a terrorist organization that recently obliterated San Francisco, obviously does not. A story of starry-eyed patriotism and idealism in a world just as cynical as ours.

2. What is a life unlived?
A short little ditty about wasted lives. Self explanatory, I should think.

3. Loneliness is more than a feeling
A short poem of pure emotion. It makes sense inside my head, but I'm not sure how well it translated into words. I haven't written poetry--seriously, at least--in about two and a half years. Call this a failed experiment.

4. Crimes Against Humanity reviews
An old theme; an old story. No new perspective. Just a fusion work, written by virtue of caffeine-induced insomnia. Short, but certainly not sweet.

5. Linear Thinking
What does Sisyphus think about as he rolls his rock up and down the hill? An assignment for my English class. "The Myth of Sisyphus" by Albert Camus was our source of "evidence". Very rough narrative, written quickly. Reviews still welcome, though.

6. The Torch Has Been Passed reviews
A blurb that doesn't quite fit anywhere else. Is life a panic in a burning theater, as Sartre asserted? Or is there some greater meaning to the blaze? How can you live a meaningful life when you believe that life is meaningless? My incoherent thoughts.

8. Conversation Between Head, Heart, and Soul reviews
The only dramatic script I've ever written. It scares me a little. No, it scares me a lot. This piece is about the absence of compassion--the attempt to suppress all emotion in favor of reason. It's either about a Vulcan, Dr. Gregory House, or me.

9. The Mere Joy of Living
Captain Anna Rand, USN, commands the USS Babylon. While in deep space, the Sun experiences a scientific impossibility. From the Bridge, Rand contemplates her life and deep-seated unhappiness. The result is rather Hollywood.
