Hey! I normally am a reader on this site, but I decided to try my own hand at writing a story of my own. So Let Me Go came about. This story is based on a song by 3 Doors Down, like the rest of the ideas floating around in my cerebelum. :) I hope you enjoy it, and review please. I know it probably isnt as good as the stories in my favorites, read them by the way, but I certainly tried!
I recently got the Taylor Swift C.D. and man, those songs are awesome. Mostly because of the lyrics, and the fact that she is pretty young and wrote them all herself...that is some writing talent. I reccomend any of her songs to anyone out here on fictionpress who enjoys the music of country.
Hey I got this e-mail today about drunk driving and I have to paste it here because it touched me...just so you dont think i wrote it.
I went to a party,
And remembered what you said. You told me not to drink, Mom So I had a sprite instead.
I felt proud of myself,
The way you said I would, That I didn't drink and drive, Though some friends said I should.
I made a healthy choice,
And your advice to me was right, The party finally ended, And the kids drove out of sight.
I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece, I never knew what was coming, Mom Something I expected least.
Now I'm lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say, The kid that caused this wreck was drunk, Mom, his voice seems far away.
My own blood's all around me,
As I try hard not to cry. I can hear the paramedic say, This girl is going to die.
I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While he was flying high, Because he chose to drink and drive, Now I would have to die.
So why do people do it, Mom
Knowing that it ruins lives? And now the pain is cutting me, Like a hundred stabbing knives.
Tell sister not to be afraid, Mom
Tell daddy to be brave, And when I go to heaven, Put " Mommy 's Girl" on my grave.
Someone should have taught him,
That it's wrong to drink and drive. Maybe if his parents had, I'd still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom
I'm getting really scared. These are my final moments, And I'm so unprepared.
I wish that you could hold me Mom,
As I lie here and die. I wish that I could say, "I love you, Mom!" So I love you and good-bye.
About me:
Name: Maybe if I review you I'll tell (although my name used to be here so...who knows)
Age: 18
Hobbies: Soccer, reading, and WRITING!!
Reason: I joined Fiction Press because I love to read, I started writing because I had all these stories floating around in my head because of the music I listen to, am I a dork or what, and I hope that none of my friends ever find out. (The tomboy writes romance stories! OMG they would die, and then come back to life and tease me and make my life miserable! SWEET!)
Stories:
Let Me Go: As I said before this story is based on the song Let Me Go by Three Doors Down. It is about a young girl three years out of college who moves back to her hometown when raising her daughters becomes to unbearable. The story follows her meeting a old "friend/crush" and along the way you get tiny glimpses into her past.
It's not the most sophisticated thing that you will find here, but it's my first story. Although the chapters are short, and it could use a lot of work I would appreciate any readers or reviewers to help me fix it up.
This story is going through some major revisions right now...I keep trying to add more chapters but I just keep finding things I want to change in the beginning chapters. I'm sorry to those who have marked this story as a favorite or those who have it on alerts...I've been trying but now I'm going to try harder.
Poems:
Last Words: A couple years ago, two days after Christmas, my papa passed. My mom, his daughter, decided to make a scrap book for my nana for Christmas, with everyone in the family making a page. This is my poem for my page.
Unbreakable: A assignment for 9th grade english "write a poem describing something without a smell." It's short like most of my other poems, I have longer ones but we submitted them for a contest, and I figure I should wait until I get the results back...although I won't win.
PS Check out my favs they are amazing. I especially recommend anything by NStone, and the story Against All Odds and its sequel.
Thanks!
