Update (7-16-09): Thanks so much for putting up with my infrequent posts. My goal is to finish The Jade Bracelet by the end of the summer. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks so much for the endless support. :)

Writing is in my blood. Not sure how to explain it... words seem to pour out of some unknown recess of my brain and sometimes I have very little control. This site has helped me regain a writing confidence that I had lost a few years ago. THANK YOU! My ultimate goal is to be published (and of course to make money from writing)! I am working on the edits to my first completed novel on this site: Killing Memories. The editing/re-writing process is very daunting... but I'm working on it... slowly, but surely. So... the draft here may be considered technically crappy, but the story is good! Basics about me in case you're curious: Twenty-something, female, living in New Hampshire and working on an MFA degree in fiction writing, diverse, open-minded, loyal, with a strong passion for writing.

Current Story Summary:

The Jade Bracelet: Penny Rothchild lives a pretty simple and somewhat boring life, but she likes it. She likes her normal routine, her hermit ways, and the fact that she's perfected her "leave me alone" glare. So what happens when Penny's best friend Ginger, who likes to think of herself as a psychic witch, buys a jade bracelet from off the black market and presents it to Penny for her twenty-fourth birthday? Something unexpected. Something magical. Something very unwanted. With the snap of a bracelet clasp, Penny is transported backwards in time, to a place and era not lived for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. Suddenly Penny's life becomes much less boring. She finds herself digging her way through archaic lifestyles; burly, disgusting men; handsome, unavoidable knights; tight corsets; horrible body-odor; false accusations; ancient sicknesses and medical practices; and a pesky little war. While she struggles for answers to how she came to be thrust into such a bizarre place and how she can get out, she realizes just how amazing life can be if you just open yourself up a little.

My Darling Bunny: Fifteen years ago, Madeline Archer, third daughter of Sir Reginald Archer and Lady Josephine Archer was born. It was soon evident that the child was born with a most disadvantageous genetic defect. By her third birthday, the little girl had sprouted ungodly large baby teeth that, upon falling out, were replaced by even larger adult teeth. Nibbling on carrots in the presence of others, or even laughing and smiling with the joyous spirit of a child, only gave acquaintances and certain family members opening to call young Madeline horrid nicknames, among those: Chipmunk, Archy Weasel Bottom, Beaver Nibbler, and the ungodly Rabbit. Tormented, she turns to Alexander Black, a young boy with a similiar plight, and befriends him. Before leaving for his schooling, Alex promises Madeline that she will grow out of her awkwardness and will become a woman that will surely shun him. Madeline holds on to such illusions and for four years eagerly awaits his homecoming. But the Alexander that returns is not the scrap of a boy who left her He returns as a devilishly handsome young man, the catch of Town and the desire of all beautiful young women. How dare he grow into a beautiful prince, while she remained a toad? Can Alexander convince Madeline that she is not Archy Weasel Bottom anymore? Will she become his darling bunny, as he had always intended?
