Author has written 4 stories for Love, and Romance. Update January '13- You can basically disregard the first update from September, lol. Those stories are on hold because Where She Belongs has taken over my brain and problems I'd been having with it (the story idea being older than the other two) have worked themselves out in my mind. I'm posting just a preview of it until it's finished, mostly because I feel bad for taking so long to get my stuff together and wanted to do something as a thank you for all the support I've received. It really does mean the world to me. I'm hoping it won't take too long for it to all come together. I'm working full-time now (after not working at all for what felt like forever) so that'll cut a little bit into my writing time. But lately the old muse has been visiting me with more frequency than she had been for a while after I finished BLTN. Hopefully she sticks around. I really don't want to be one of those authors who gets halfway through a story and then stops updating, which is why I'm only doing the prologue for now. I understand, though, if some of you don't read it until I'm regularly posting. Well, I think that's all I need to say for now...hope everybody has a blessed new year! 2nd Update September '12- So. Better Late Than Never won the Judge's Pick for Best Het and was Runner-Up in the Best Drama category for Round 12 of the Some Kind of Wonderful Awards! Yay! So Exciting. Thank you to everyone who voted for this story, it really means so much. Update September '12- Taking some time now to do some revisions on Better Late Than Never just so you're all aware. I'm also working on a couple new stories, which will be ready... eventually. My muse is kinda bouncing back and forth between the two, and I have no idea which one will be done first. Or what they'll be called. Right now they're titled Gabi&Damien and Caleb&Sarina so there you go! Character names. It's what I use to refer to all my stories before I figure out what the heck the title's gonna be. Is it just me or is titling a story the hardest part? Anyway, back to work I go... Hi. I'm just going to tell you a little about myself, nothing too earth shattering. My name is Megan, and I'm 24. I have two older brothers, Matt and Mark. We all have the same initials, hence my pen name. My avatar is usually a picture of my beloved, and oh-so adorably nuts, Beagle/Boxer mix, Chloe. I live in Pinellas County, Florida, and that's where most of my stories will be set, at least roughly. I do take some(read: lots of) artistic license with my hometown. I'm a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Rays, so, no offense to Boston and/or New York fans, but my characters will engage in the occasional Yankees/Red Sox bashing. Don't hold it against them. I'm going to tell you right now, I SUCK at summaries. At least, I suck at 384-character ones. I like music, and a lot of times when I'm trying to write, I end up spending most of my time singing along to whatever songs are playing. It's kind of annoying, but I find a lot of inspiration in music. Too much to sit and write without it. I love quotes, and I'm well on my way to filling up a notebook with my favorites. I will, of course, share some with you-- "Listen to the Mustn't's, child. Listen to the Don't's. Listen to the Shouldn't's, the Impossible's, the Won't's. Listen to the Never Haves, then Listen close to me. ANYthing can happen, child. ANYthing can be." "But groundless hope, like unconditional love, is the only kind worth having." "This is the first test of a gentleman: his respect for those who can be of no possible value to him." "You [an aspiring writer] can get help from teachers, but you are going to have to learn a lot by yourself, sitting alone in a room." "America makes prodigious mistakes, America has colossal faults, but one thing cannot be denied: America is always on the move. She may be going to Hell, of course, but at least she isn't standing still." "Love never reasons but profusely gives; gives, like a thoughtless prodigal, its all, and trembles lest it has done too little." "I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely, miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing." "A wise girl kisses but doesn't love, listens but doesn't believe, and leaves before she is left." and the last one, for now: "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." Stories: Last Minute Lullaby- Rocky called her older brother, from whom she had been estranged for the past couple years, to come home when their father had a heart attack and fell into a coma. When she couldn't get in touch with him she dialed the only person she could think of to help track her wayward brother down. Jesse was Rafe's best friend, though they were estranged now too, and, unable to find Rafe, he flied from California to Florida to be with Rocky while her father was in the hospital. Having known each other since they were teenagers, she didn't hesitate to offer to let him stay with her, just like he didn't hesitate to accept. It wasn't long before they were both noticing things about each other that they had never noticed before. Things kind of just blossom from there, much to her brother's anger and disappointment. Better Late Than Never- My take on the best friend's older brother story, mixed with a little friends with benefits. Nola lost her heart to her best friend’s older brother at Bridget's tenth birthday party, and in the twelve years since, she had never gotten it back. At ten, being in love with an older man had felt heady and wonderful. At sixteen, annoyance had set in as she realized he simply did not think of her that way. Now, at twenty-two, she feels hugely pathetic that she's never gotten over him. But what happens when it turns out he might want her, too? Sex, idiocy, lying, & crying ensue. | |||||||
